A WOMAN has left people furious after revealing the “controversial” decisions she made for her wedding day.
Madeleine White revealed that she had no idea that her choices would anger so many people and said: “Maybe I am turning into a bride after all”.
On TiKTok, Madeleine shared that her first “divisive” decision was to have a destination wedding.
She said people accused her of being “selfish” for this, as many people who cannot afford to travel will be excluded from the wedding.
However, she said that “that’s exactly the point.”
“We want to avoid fair-weather guests who will stick around for an hour to watch the ceremony and get a free plate of food.
“If people are spending money to come to Europe to attend our wedding, they must really care about us.”
Another rule from Madeleine and her fiancé is that there will be no speeches at the wedding.
“We’re just giving a speech for my dad and a welcome toast for Andrew’s dad,” she said.
“And that’s it, finito, cut!”
Madeleine added that they will give guests a dress code and what to wear.
She said people have criticized this rule as being “cheesy” and “selfish,” but said she thinks it’s helpful to have a theme.
“It’s more difficult and confusing when you don’t give people a dress code,” she said.
Madeleine’s video, which was posted under the username @madeleine_white, likely touched a lot of people as it racked up more than 2.5 million views on the video-sharing platform.
TikTok users rushed to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts.
One person said: “Our problem with destination weddings would always be that we wanted to go and couldn’t afford it.
