A LAWN expert has shared a pro tip that helps them level out uneven yards.

The trick also works as a growth technique that encourages low points to emerge.

“The best way to level a yard is with sand,” he explained.

“It fills in all the low spots, compacts well and doesn’t come off with water.”

The gardener began by throwing sand in a wheelbarrow to the arid places in his yard.

After several trips, he managed to create several piles of sand in the trouble spots in his yard.

He slowly leveled the sand with a leveling rake, making sure to cover the entire yard with an even layer.

Meyers explained that sand does not impede grass growth and is great as a base for new plantings.

“You can grow new grass by planting seeds and topsoil,” he advised.

Two months after putting the sand in the ground, he showed off his “thriving” flat yard.

While many shared alternative suggestions for leveling a yard, Meyers explained that sand was the best option.

“I did this with just topsoil and it turned out great,” said one commenter.

He refuted that the topsoil had the disadvantage of being washed away by rain.
