SHE hated her “ugly” front door.
But instead of spending money on a brand new one, one homeowner showed how she managed to give hers a shine, for less than £30.
She used TikTok to share a video of the transformation, at the top of which she wrote: “How to transform your front door for less than £30.”
“If you have an ugly door like mine, don’t worry, you don’t need to shell out hundreds on a new door – you just need to buy a specific tube of paint for your door,” she began.
She chose green and began cleaning the door with sugar soap and lightly sanding it before starting to paint.
“After the first coat, you might think, ‘What the hell am I doing? I messed up!’ but the second layer gives much better coverage,” she said.
She concluded the video by showing off the final look after the paint had dried, noting that it was done without a new door handle and new door numbers.
“What a shine!” she said.

“Painting your front door is a really easy trick to give your home a more welcoming vibe,” she added in the caption.
And impressed viewers were quick to praise the woman in the comments section, with one writing: “It looks fantastic. I love that green!”
“Good job… paint one more time before putting on a new flap and handle… maybe a matte varnish too,” suggested another.
“It looks fabulous, little things make such a big impact,” commented a third.
“You should have bought an undercoat that matches the color so you wouldn’t have to put so many coats out the door,” said someone else.
To which the woman replied that she had learned her lesson.
“Beautiful!” another praised.
“The wreath on the door would look good too!”
“Don’t worry, garland and hanging baskets are outstanding!” she laughed in response.
“You convinced my husband when I couldn’t, thank you,” another person commented.
In another video, she revealed that she used Dulux’s Weathershield Multisurface paint in Green Glade.
She also said that with the other lights she needs to buy for the door, the entire transformation cost her less than £40.
“£40 for this kind of transformation?” she concluded.
“I’m here for it!”
