A GARDENING guru gave his garden a “wow” feeling after getting rid of overgrown weeds.
She also used two easy methods to transform her outdoor space into a seriously updated look.
The homeowner explained how she and her husband decided to elevate their front yard.
“We installed drip irrigation, painted everything, removed much of the existing vegetation [and] weeds and planted some shrubs, perennials and annuals,” said Redditor 2sangblitz.
She was pleased with their progress – and it seemed the plants were too.
“Overall, everyone seems very happy, even the caladiums, which are getting a lot more sun than I thought when I planned this in early spring,” she said.
Although she admitted they still had a few more items to check off their home improvement list, they were “very proud” of their work.
That work certainly seemed to pay off, as the front of her house went from covered in weeds and grass to ultra-glamorous.
The flower garden was now a colorful explosion of reds, yellows, purples and other bright hues.
Many readers were also impressed by the success of the seedlings.
“So incredibly beautiful! Well done!” wrote one user.
“Beautiful! Reminds me of a house you would see in Key West,” another user agreed.
Retail giant Home Depot sells a Dig Landscape drip irrigation kit for $29.97, described as ideal for watering flowers, shrubs, and bushes.
The system, which covers up to 150 square feet, can even be expanded.
The kit, made from UV-resistant materials, includes everything you need for a complete installation.
The item saves water by delivering water directly to the root of the plant. Also includes pressure compensated drippers for consistent flow.
She also gave an update on her flower garden.
“Lots of pollinators enjoying the flowers! But we are planning to put some grass in the yard for the dogs,” she said.
Others were also amazed by the final look.
“This is absolutely beautiful! Great job!” said one Redditor.
“Cool! What a difference plants make!” another agreed.
“Beautiful. Great work. Good eye,” added a third reader.
Yet another user gave their own advice.
“It looks amazing, man. Don’t be afraid to put down a thick mulch to avoid those pesky weeds,” they said.
“Nothing I hate more than removing weeds, and because I mulch my beds thicker—more than five inches—I barely get any more weeds. Preen hasn’t really done much for me in terms of avoiding them,” they added.
“Thanks for the suggestion! We probably need to add more mulch. I’ll go in there once a day or so and pull out any stragglers,” she replied.
