A wedding guest’s dress disaster caused some backlash from her best friend.

The bride even believed she had ruined her big day.

MESSY DRESS

“My best friend said I ruined her wedding,” said Redditor jamieriots.

She explained how all the dress drama happened at the reception, as her friend’s ceremony had already taken place a year earlier.

The party was postponed due to COVID-19and she wanted to make everything even more “special” for her friend.

She explained how this included making her bouquet and helping with the decorations.

She even prioritized celebrating her friend over her busy life, which included long weeks at work and a home improvement project.

She continued to go above and beyond for her best friend on the big day, taking her out to eat and completing a few last-minute errands.

Once they arrived at the salon to get ready, however, she suffered a serious wardrobe malfunction.

“While we were putting on our dresses mine’s zipper broke!” she said.

She explained that she struggles with anxiety and that the situation made her “freak out a little.”

She only thought about how to fix the dress.

“A million and one things were going through my head – how to fix this, how I was supposed to walk and be in front of 200 people with my dress open, how embarrassing it would be, etc.,” she said.

While the other girls tried to help by using a safety pin, she thought it looked “horrible”.

BRIDE’S BAD BEHAVIOR

It was then that her friend started attacking and screaming.

She wasn’t taking the accident too seriously, because according to her, no one would “care” or “watch” her – after all, there was only one bride here.

When she realized she was having a panic attack, she advised the other guests to go to the reception.

She decided she would “figure it out” or completely forget about being at the wedding.

She even asked her husband – who was also supposed to attend the wedding – to come to the salon to try and help with both the dress and her emotional state, calming her down.

Things were starting to look up, however, as the girls working at the salon were able to “fix” her dress.

After all, a small accident with her dress wouldn’t make her miss the celebration.

She attended the event and described the rest of the night, which included fun and dancing, as “perfect.”

She explained how her best friend’s behavior also changed.

“She acted like everything was fine,” she said.

She thought they were over the incident, but the case is still not closed.

WHO IS CRYING NOW

The next day, she received a text from a friend saying she had “ruined the whole day.”

She blamed the “dress situation” for resulting in her being late and therefore not getting the chance to take all the photos she had hoped for.

She was apparently so “upset” that she remained “shaken” for the rest of the night.

And that wasn’t the only fight her best friend had with her.

She called her crying fit and the fact that she didn’t want to attend with her dress open “childish” and “immature.”

And the accusations didn’t stop there.

Her best friend’s bridesmaids also sent her “rude” messages.

“I feel horrible and I’ve been under a lot of stress – I think my emotions got the better of me,” she said.

After thinking she was wrong, she changed her mind and realized she didn’t want to be friends anymore.

“And she called me a narcissist and couldn’t understand why I wanted out of her life,” she said.

Still, she wasn’t regretting her decision as her life was now less “stressful” without her.

“And she’s on Facebook complaining about having to photoshop her wedding photos,” she said.

THE JURY IS OUT

Some agreed that she was better off without her friend.

“And she should be grateful for all the time and effort you put into helping her. Maybe she could have helped you fix your dress,” one user wrote.

“The bride needs a sense of humor. My mom’s dress for my wedding had a zipper that went from the front of her hip to her armpit and broke about a quarter of the way up,” said another Redditor.

“While my aunt sewed her the dress, we all laughed and joked about it. I was a few minutes late for the wedding, but it wasn’t a big deal. No one died. Life went on,” she added.

Still others thought she could have done things differently.

“You should have played it calmer and told her you were going to catch up to begin with,” said one user.

“If you made her late, I wouldn’t say you ruined her wedding, but it definitely caused unnecessary stress,” they continued.
