A BARGAIN shopper has revealed the contents of a handbag she bought at an estate sale.
A discovery in the bag told her everything she needed to know about its former owner.
The fan of property sales (@estatesalefreaks) shared the thrifty shopping campaign in a viral TikTok video.
Although she had purchased the bag at a sale months ago, she explained that she hadn’t had a chance to use it yet.
After exchanging another bag, she finally tried it on for size for the first time.
After storing her belongings in the bag’s main compartment, she explained that she wanted to put more things in an interior zippered pocket.
She unzipped the pocket to reveal a precious cargo that the bag’s previous owner had left behind.
“In there is the most Splenda you’ve ever eaten,” she said, laughing as she held up packets of the sugar substitute.
“You know exactly what that woman, the Splenda collector, was like. I love her. Thank you so much.”
She added that anyone who needs something sweetened in the “next ten years” should let her know.
People agreed that Splenda packets were a sweet informant of the previous owner’s personality.
Many said the video reminded them of their loved ones.
“My sister and I like to put sugar/Splenda packets in my mom’s purse when we go out to eat,” said one commenter.
“Ah, you must have taken one of my mother’s old suitcases,” joked another.
“Every Sunday after church we would go to the same breakfast place, and my grandmother would make us go around each table and steal the packets of strawberry jam,” said a third.
“My grandma Fern. Thanks for the reminder,” said a fourth.
You know exactly what this woman, the Splenda hoarder, was like.
