HE may have had the best intentions – but a DIY enthusiast left his girlfriend horrified with his attempt at a garden makeover.

Mum-of-two Justine took to TikTok to reveal how her man had “absolutely ruined” the family’s huge outdoor space, which had so much “potential”.

According to the mortified father, one of the main reasons they bought the property was because it was a “final lot”, as well as the “perfect” garden which was “huge”.

However, two years later, after the great DIY enthusiast began the transformation process, the garden became what some brutally described as a “backyard of killjoys”.

”One day he woke up and decided he was going to knock down an entire wall – he picked up a hammer and started banging. Literally just bricks everywhere”, Justine showed the dire consequences in the video.

The next project the guy came up with was cutting down all the trees, before sending his partner to dig all over the garden.

”I just left piles and piles of mud in the garden with absolutely no plan on what to do with it.”

Since the digger showed up, Justine and her boyfriend have had a blast – but the project has been put on hold, with “nothing being done to that garden”.

While there was a bonus – the shed being knocked down – the rest of the sparkle was a total disaster, as Justine revealed there was even grass growing in the towering piles of mud.

”I am ashamed. My neighbors must think ‘What the hell?’.

”But stay tuned because it’s going to be a good transformation in the garden”, Justine remained hopeful.

Sharing the disaster in her pagethe mother of two laughed in the caption: “Pending transformation.”

How to Ensure Your Lawn Looks Green and Lush All Summer Long

Since being posted on the platform, the clip has taken the internet by storm, earning Justine more than 722,000 views in just two days.

Equally horrified, hundreds of people flocked to the comments to share their thoughts and criticize the boyfriend.

One of them exclaimed in pure horror, writing: ”’He really turned a decent garden into a killjoy yard.

”Is he going to buy horses for his back now?”

”It looked beautiful before. I would be furious,” another couldn’t believe what he had just seen.

Four Tips to Save Money for Gardening on a Budget

CHEAP AND EXCITING

Opt for perennials to get the most bang for your buck. They last year after year, so you only pay once.

Horticulturist Chloe Moore, from GetIntoGardening.co.uk, said: “One of my favorite low maintenance plants is lavender – you can buy a small plant for around a fiver.

“Keep it in a pot or plant it in a border. Once the lavender is established, it will need very little water and no feeding.”

FEED THE EARTH: Coffee grounds provide a boost of nutrients to the soil.
If you don’t use them at home, try asking at your local coffee shop.

Many small establishments will happily give old land away for free rather than discarding it.

Old fruit, vegetable peelings and eggshells also provide food for plants. Instead of throwing them away, you can make a small compost pile or mix them into the soil.

PLANT A SEED: Seeds tend to be much cheaper to buy than plants.

Chloe tipped Wilko, B&M and The Range for the best bargains and said: “If you have friends with an established garden, why not ask for cuttings? This is called propagation. It’s a little more work than just buying a jar, but it’s still relatively easy and you don’t have to spend a penny.”

After receiving the seedling, simply keep it indoors and in a sunny place, in clean water. When roots start to form, it is ready to plant.

SEASONAL STORE: Go to the garden center in late summer and early fall when they are most likely to clear and price down inventory to make room for the next season.

Another person said: ”The trees are the best part!

”They add height and privacy. Gardens look sooo boring without trees.

“You must have the patience of a saint,” wrote a fourth.

After trolls rushed to viciously attack the DIY superfan, Justine revealed she was no longer furious and that the couple have “a better plan” for the garden.

She explained the vision in the comments: ”We’re buying another wall, we just want a bigger patio/seating area in front of the grass.”
