AN interior design fan has shared a trick that boosts your flimsy pillows.
Cheap trick added volume to Ikea pillows for less than $8.
Editor All things13 shared the interior design tip in a viral post.
The decor enthusiast explained that they struggled to make their Ikea pillows more comfortable.
While they liked the brand’s Gurli covers for their Slan pillows, their inserts were disappointing.
“I love the Gurli cushions, but the inserts at Ikea are flat and terrible and kind of expensive elsewhere,” they said.

After some experimentation, they managed to find a solution.
Instead of Ikea pillows, which didn’t suit the occasion, they opted for Ikea bed pillows.
“Two of their cheap pillows folded in half fill perfectly for less than $6,” they revealed.
Although the Redditor paid less than $6 for both pillows at the time, the price has since increased.
Shoppers can now purchase Ikea’s Slan pillow for $3.79.
The inner pillow costs just $4, bringing the total for both purchases to less than $8.
Others shared their favorite, inexpensive ways to give pillows a boost.
“We use two Ikea pillows on each pillow and they fill them well,” said one commenter.
“I found that if you put them in the dryer, [they] fat”, offered another.
Other Ikea fans shared their favorite pillow accessory picks.

“I personally prefer FJÄDRAR inserts – they are more expensive [$7] each one, but they are full of feathers and very comfortable,” one commenter suggested.
“A good pillow replacement for unexpected guests!
“I have about 20 of them in various rooms in my house.”
A Redditor supported the suggestion, attesting to the quality of the pillow.
“And they last forever,” they added.
“My first two survived two ‘alternative down’ series and are strong.”
