A BRIDEZILLA went beyond the limits by making her sister-in-law dress like a “pregnant prostitute”.
She said the reason for the look on her wedding day was because she “made things difficult.”
A redditor I reposted the bizarre story to the social media platform, calling the original poster a “bridezilla.”
“I’ve written about my sister-in-law’s work before, but recently I remembered this and thought I’d share,” said the original poster.
“This happened in 2014.”
“My husband and I had a cosplay-themed wedding. Guests were able to dress up or just be comfortable.”
ON FIRE
The bride highlighted that the event’s cosplay theme was based on the TV show Firefly.
“My husband asked me to name his sister as bridesmaid and I agreed even though I don’t like her or get along with her,” she said.
The bride said her only “rule” was to know who was dressing up as which character, to ensure no one repeated the same look.
“My sister-in-law knew this before she agreed to participate in the wedding,” she said.
“The other three bridesmaids chose their characters and put together their costumes with very little or no input from me.
“Before the wedding, she kept asking me what she should wear.
“My husband and I encouraged her to watch the show (there are only 13 episodes and a movie) to choose a character.
“There was even one time when we were visiting and she invited us to watch a movie, we suggested this program and she refused.
“I really just wanted it to be a super relaxed experience because we’re not formal, serious people, but she was making it difficult.”
TAKING MATTER IN YOUR OWN HANDS
The “bridezilla” decided that the wait was enough and it was time to choose a character for her sister-in-law.
“Weeks later she hadn’t even looked at the list and was asking me what she should wear again. I told her to look at the list and she said she would,” said the bride.
“A few weeks later, she’s asking again. It was very annoying that she refused to put any effort into it.
“Finally she told me to choose who she should be, so I chose the pregnant prostitute.
“She didn’t even bother to look for the character after that and even pestered me about what specific clothes she should buy.
“She only found out after the wedding who the character was and was very upset with me.
“I told her she should have chosen her own character if it mattered.”
Petaline is a character from the series Firefly, who works in a brothel and becomes pregnant.
