SHE wanted a beautiful set of garden furniture but wasn’t willing to fork out the hundreds of pounds she’s been earning online.
So instead, Rachel searched her local Facebook groups and Marketplace and ended up coming up trumps – finding one for just £15.
She used TikTok to share a video showing the set, which came with two individual armchairs, a two-seater sofa and a table with a glass top.
“Guys, I just bought this four-piece wicker garden set for £15!” she said in the clip.
“I’ve been looking for one for a long time because I really wanted one but didn’t want to spend £150 to £300, or whatever the price was.
“So I’m really happy about it!”
Rachel said the set just needs cleaning and there are some damaged bits on the seats, but “nothing that can’t be fixed.”
“I bought this on Marketplace, so it’s a great time to look for anything for your garden because a lot of people are getting rid of old things and probably buying new things,” she added.
Rachel then turned the camera to show one of the chair’s damaged arms, saying she would do her best to fix it.
But she was even satisfied with the cushions that came with the set, as they were all “beautiful, fluffy and clean too”.
“For £15 you can’t say no, can you?” she concluded.
“Really happy with this!” Rachel added in the caption.
“Now is the time to look for used gardening items as many people will be buying new ones for the summer!
“All that’s left is to do a good cleaning, trim the hedge and clean the patio and you’re all set.”
“Someone’s trash, someone else’s treasure!” one person commented on the video.
“You can buy rolled rattan on Shein,” added another.
How to Find Gardening Bargains
Tidying up your garden to enjoy on hot, sunny days doesn’t have to be expensive.
Sun Savers editor Lana Clements explains how to get a great deal on garden items…
You can save big on plants, shrubs and flowers, as well as gardening tools and furniture.
Many retailers run flash sales across entire seasonal ranges—often these promotions are tied to payday at the end of the month or holiday weekends, so keep an eye out.
Sign up for email lists from your favorite brands and you’ll be the first to know about special offers. It may also be worth following retailers on social media.
Use a price comparison site to search for the best value items.
And keep an eye out for special buys at Aldi and halfway through Lidl, which happen a few times a week and usually mean big-ticket seasonal items for your outdoor areas.
If you’re not in a rush to buy an item, try adding it to your online shopping cart and leaving it for a few days.
Sometimes big brands try to entice you into the sale by offering you a discount.
And always check if you can receive cashback before paying.
It’s especially worth using sites like Topcashback, Quidco and Jamdoughnut app when buying larger items like garden furniture as you’ll get a good reward.
“I received a free set last week. Damaged, but I can hide it with a throw,” revealed a third.
“I loved it!! What a bargain!!” someone commented.
“Oh, wow, that’s fabulous!” another wrote.
“The market is the best!” someone gushed.
