Editor Random number here couldn’t contain their excitement when they got an expensive kitchen item for free.

The luxury purchase was far from new, but they told how they found a red Le Creuset frying pan and gave it new life in a publish.

It all started when they had some garage sales a while ago and noticed that there was a house giving away stuff for free.

“I saw this crispy frying pan, immediately grabbed it and took a photo of the ‘FREE’ sign just in case,” they explained.

They also shared before and after photos of the interior and exterior so others could see the progress.

“Wow, amazing find in the color of my dreams,” said one Redditor.

Le Creuset cookware typically sells for around $150.

The French cookware brand is popular with many cooks and bakers.

All kitchen items are made of high-quality enameled cast iron, which is why they have a high price.

RandomNumberHere decided to try and bring the economic pan back to its former glory.

They soaked the pan with Easy Off Heavy Duty oven cleaner for almost a day.

“Cool. I would be worried about damaging the glaze, but I don’t think so. I have a few pans I can try this technique on,” another Reddit user wrote.

The poster responded that Easy Off is perfect for exactly this reason.

It is intended for cleaning the enamel inside the oven.

“As long as you don’t overdo it, you can also clean enameled pans with it,” they recommended.

They warned not to leave it in the pan for several days, as it may lose its effectiveness.

Overall, they said their “experiment certainly worked well” and “turned out great.”

Many Redditors agreed and couldn’t wait to try the cleaning method.

“The pan was a good find for you, your cleaning technique is a good find for me,” one commented.

“I’m going to try this in a little LC pot I found the other day!” another said.

Why is Le Creuset so expensive?

Le Creuset cookware is on the wish list of many home cooks and bakers.

But the French brand’s Dutch ovens can cost between $260 and $750, and even a loaf pan costs $180.

So what justifies such high prices?

Le Creuset’s Dutch ovens are among its most popular items and—along with several other parts of its cookware—are made from high-quality enameled cast iron.

They’re made to last a long time and even come with a lifetime warranty “to be free from defects in materials and workmanship.”

“It’s like, do you really want to buy something for $50 over and over again, or do you want to invest in something and know you’ll have it for a long time?” Nate Collier, director of marketing and communications at Le Creuset, told Eater.

According to Kitchen utensils specialist15 quality control officers inspect each branded item before it is sold.

Of course, they are also beautiful and are a status symbol.

“You think of it as a simple kitchen piece, but even the silhouette of our Dutch oven is recognizable,” Collier said.

“You could show someone a line drawing without any color, and most people who are familiar with cookware would be able to tell that it’s specifically a Le Creuset Dutch oven.”

Celebrity fans include Julia Child, Marilyn Monroe, Jennifer Garner and Taylor Swift.
