WITH the British climate being notoriously wet and windy, some people refuse to buy expensive garden furniture – especially as it will only be used for a few days a year.

One gardening Whiz found an ingenious solution, using scrap materials that are often thrown away.

Instead of spending a small fortune on accessories for her garden, Jackie Scotchbrooke Reed decided to make her own DIY seats.

Having undertaken the ambitious project, she showed off the incredible results with a large bench, benches and table added to her deck.

Sharing their results on Facebook, members of the DIY Gardening on a Budget Official group couldn’t believe how good the furniture looked.

They couldn’t even surpass the material she used.

Posting a photo to the group, the thrifty gardener revealed that the stunning ensemble was entirely ‘made from pallets’.

Even more impressive, she used masonry paint to add a bold pop of color to the space.

There was also storage space, as pallets were stacked neatly on top of each other to create shelves on the benches and seats.

Jackie even added extra cushions and benches in similar tones, which made her space even more inviting.

Unsurprisingly, her clever DIY went viral in the gardening group – with others commenting on how great her space looks.

“It looks great and I love the color. Well done,” wrote one, with another adding: “Amazing job!!!”

If you’re tempted to try this DIY, you’ll be relieved to know that you can often find wooden pallets in supermarkets and larger stores for free.

You just need to ask the staff if they are discarding any as most receive new shipments of products on pallets every day.

Alternatively, you can buy them from local sales sites such as Facebook Marketplace for just a few pounds.

Wooden pallets are not only cheap but also a great material to work with as they are lightweight and can be used for countless projects.

For those of you who aren’t DIY geniuses like Jackie, you can start by making a simple planter for your garden using a small pallet.

Alternatively, you can also use them to create raised beds – especially if you feel more confident with DIY projects.

The possibilities are endless, and even better, you can buy most of the extra supplies you need at DIY stores and online.

For example, Jackie revealed that she purchased masonry paint for her project on Amazon with a 1L bathtub starting at just £21.95 per can.

If you haven’t enjoyed this DIY project yet, you can also find items like long nailsscrews and brackets for just a few pounds at stores like B&Q.

The Fabulous team even found another gardener who has shown others how to make these stunning seats, so you just have to follow along.

Who said doing DIY projects has to be difficult?

With so many DIYs to choose from, this leftover material can be a great addition to your garden.
