But Iris Jones, now 84, who made headlines after marrying her ex, Mohamed Ibrahim, who was then in his early 30s, has issued a warning to people who date online.

The grandmother who married Egyptian toyboy has warned singles to be wary of “scammers and con artists” on dating sites.

Iris met Mohamed on Facebook in June 2019 and soon flew to Cairo, Egypt, to meet him.

The pair married the following year and Iris got candid about her cheeky bedroom antics in an interview on This Morning in 2021, which left then presenters Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield in fits of laughter.

But last year, Iris announced that the pair were going their separate ways, explaining that she “replaced him with a cat” after dubbing him “evil” and as a “sewer rat”.

A bitter battle of words ensued with her calling him the “Prince of Darkness” and him claiming she used him as a “sex slave”.

The ruin of their relationship came after Iris, who lives in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, claimed she was walking the bill for Muhammad’s debts and lending him large amounts of money.

Now, Iris has warned online daters to be careful who they are dating.

The pensioner took to Facebook to share her advice, saying: “A warning to all the vulnerable women online, talking to scammers and con artists, thinking they are messaging genuine men on legitimate dating sites.

“Be aware that they are only interested in getting their dirty paws on your money and will talk to you for weeks, or even months, to achieve their goals.”

Irish said she has been targeted by four scammers in recent months and, as a result, now considers herself a “competent scam hunter.”

Iris Jones, 81, tells the story of how she met and married her Egyptian husband of 36 years

She claimed a “bad” individual tried to scam her out of thousands of pounds.

She added: “You chose the wrong woman this time because I make this my business to expose scammers like you.

The man I married did his best to keep me away from my family

“I really enjoyed being the puppet master, making you dance to my tune.”

Previously, Iris claimed her former toyboy lover stole £25,000 after moving into her “chicken shack” bungalow, plus an extra £14,000 she sent while he was still in Egypt, before their wedding day.

She also alleged that Mohamed asked her to change his will so that he would inherit his house.

In the post, she said: “The man I married tried his best to remove me from my family to get me to change my will, but we are a very close-knit family and they have supported me the entire time since I fell victim to this vile and evil.”

Timeline of Iris and Mohamed’s relationship

The couple started chatting on Facebook in June 2019.

In November 2019, Iris visited Mohamed for the first time.

Iris and Mohamed got married in October 2020.

Mohamed came to live in England in November 2021.

The pair split in June 2023, with Iris ending the relationship.

It comes after Iris previously told Fabulous: “I will never be fooled again. I’ll be 85 in September, but I’m no fool. My mind is in perfect order.”

She also shared, “These men must think I’m stupid.

I’ve changed from Mohamed – I don’t hate him, I’m indifferent

Iris Jones

“I thought Mohamed was genuine, but now I realize I was in love with him. How can you love someone you’ve never met?

But despite the public fight, Iris revealed that, for the first time, there is no bad blood between her and Mohamed.

Iris concluded: “I left Mohamed – I don’t hate him, I’m indifferent.”
