Editor Roommateeastlake posted about the manual labor on the social media platform.

“Weekend backyard makeover,” they said.

They included photos of the drastic change, which they made themselves.

“The photo on the left is at 10am on Saturday morning, the image on the right is at 6pm on Sunday night,” they said.

“My brother and I did everything ourselves.

“It’s not perfect and there’s still a lot more to do, but I’m really proud of the progress.”

CROWD REACTION

Other Redditors expressed their approval of the new look in the comments section, but the DIYer said he would make some changes.

“If I were doing this again, I would use a taller border – we used a six-inch one, but it would be better if it was a little higher above the ground to contain the gravel better,” said the original poster.

“Then I lined the outside of the circle with a cute wooden border I found at Menard’s — this was super simple, they just go in on metal pegs.”

“It’s an incredible amount of work in a short amount of time and it looks beautiful, excellent work, ready for Easter weekend,” wrote one Redditor.

“You should be proud,” added another. “Look great.”

“You should be. It’s a huge amount of work,” commented a third.

“I bet you also worked hard before the physicality started.

My gardening technique can save a lot of time removing weeds – adding sweet mulch also reduces the amount of water needed

“It’s a great plan for a small space, I’m excited to see an update.”

“I really like posts like this. You did a great job. It looks like a lot of work and it’s something you should really be proud of,” wrote another.

“Is that concrete on the left side? Did you end up digging it up?

“I disagree with the person who said you have too much grass.

“Grass can really add a lot to a garden and is especially good if you have pets, but it requires a lot of maintenance.”

“Yes, the left side had very broken and uneven concrete,” the original poster responded.

“We removed it using a crowbar and a sledgehammer.

“Fortunately (I think) I don’t think it was installed very well, so it was pretty easy to remove.”

The DIYer said he plans to add fruit trees to tie the space together.
