Editor AdHot6173 shared the interior design tip in a viral post.

A trick that saved time and effort requires just one simple step.

“The ‘rule’ that helped me the most was putting my biggest piece of furniture on the longest wall,” they said.

“Then I downsize until all I have left are my accent furniture (end tables, floor lamps).”

A free tool, they added, makes the process even simpler, without the need to lift a finger.

“There is an online program (it’s free) that you can type in your room [dimensions] and add your furniture to get a floor plan (and you can move it without having to physically in motion around),” they said.

Is called Icovia Space Planner. This has really helped me in my new house as we have some shared/weird spaces and I’m getting too old to move furniture [ten times more] if I don’t like where he is.”

Another trick also helps them visualize their space.

“I also found that seeing it from a bird’s eye view also helped a lot,” they said.

“It doesn’t really do anything in terms of color or pattern or anything but just the layout of the furniture.”

The interior design fan also shared a resource for those looking for decor and layout inspiration.

“Pinterest would also be a great visual resource for you; can help you define your style and the colors you like,” they said.

Other home decorators backed up her advice on using Pinterest.

“Look on Pinterest, in magazines, on Instagram and save images of rooms you like, then study them to see what you like in a room,” said another.

Budget-Friendly Interior Design Tips

Interior designer Judy Hoang shared her furniture tips with The US Sun.

  • Save furniture and paint it to match your decor.
  • Test whether an item is suitable for your purpose before saving it.
  • Shop for rugs, lamps, tables and pillows at Target or HomeGoods.
  • Invest in classic and timeless pieces.
  • Set up smart home lighting to save money.

“Look for similarities in your room and just move things around until you think they look good.

“Don’t worry about putting holes in the walls, buy sliders for your furniture, and always think about function first – what’s going on in this room and what’s the traffic pattern?”

Another tip, they added, is to always be aware of the dimensions of the decoration pieces and their positioning in the environment.

“As for specific arrangements, pay attention to spacing. Spacing things out too much makes the environment feel disconnected,” they explained.

“Think about ‘seating arrangements’ when organizing your living room, for example – what will be [the] more conducive to how people use this space?” they asked.

“If anyone in the chairs in front of the sofa needs to shout to be heard, move the furniture closer.

“If you have to squeeze between pieces to get a seat, space it out. Not everything needs to be against the wall.”
