A COUPLE revealed they turned a shed at the bottom of their garden into an AirBnb to make some extra cash.

They also said they managed to travel the world and buy Cool things.

When Genevieve and Duston first purchased their home, the space was being used as a garage, but was originally used as a small living space in World War II.

Upon learning that people lived there, the couple decided to convert it into an AirBnb.

The tiny house, situated in the couple’s garden in Portland, Oregon, has a small kitchen equipped with a kettle, sink and plenty of cupboards.

In the bedroom there is a large double bed and the room is decorated with exclusive tapestries and plants.

The space also has a bathroom equipped with a toilet and shower and also a mini breakfast bar, for cozy morning conversations.

Speaking to the Tiny House Expedition YouTube channel, Genevieve said: “It has everything you need and nothing you don’t.

“We need very little to really live our lives.”

The couple said renting the shed makes them feel part of a community, especially because they have chickens in the garden, which guests love to get their morning eggs from.

The tiny house’s ceilings are very high, so the space feels spacious, and the place is decorated with finds from vintage and charity shops, as well as trinkets made by local artists.

A garage turned into a sanctuary: saving and living together

Genevieve added that they haven’t had any bad guest experiences and said that AirBnb has been a helpful tool in teaching her daughter about people from around the world.

The couple’s garage left many impressed, and YouTube users took to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts.

One person said: “I think the B&B is lovely, it’s compact but spacious.

“I love the vaulted ceiling and your choice of colors, it’s so clean and refreshing.”

A second person said: “This is the best B&B I have ever seen, with a proper, usable kitchen.

Tiny House FAQs

The tiny house movement started in the US before gaining popularity in the UK.

What is a tiny house?

Tiny homes are small, fully equipped spaces designed to lead a more sustainable, off-grid lifestyle. Although they vary in size and shape, tiny houses tend to be between 15 and 50 square meters in capacity, are made from sustainable materials, and are easier – and cheaper – to maintain than traditional brick homes.

Are tiny houses legal in UK?

As long as the tiny house does not exceed 19.8m x 6.7m in size, it is defined as a caravan in UK law. Therefore, tiny homes are classified as legal additional living space.

Can you get a mortgage for a tiny house?

The small size and relatively low cost of tiny homes means they are generally not considered eligible for a mortgage. However, there are many options for taking out a loan to finance your dreams of a perfect mobile home.

“The entire space is carefully designed and decorated.”

A third added: “This is a lovely place, it’s simply decorated but feels so fresh, calm and welcoming.”

A fourth added: “This is a clever idea and it looks comfortable, like a studio.”
