A mum has slammed shoppers who are buying viral baby gear from Aldi and then flogging it at Vinted for four times the price.

Furious mum Harriet Wallis, 25, took to TikTok to express her pure shock after seeing a Vinted advert for a popular children’s item from Aldi costing an eye-watering £100.

According to the mother of two, who asked the popular online marketplace to resolve the issue, she found a Vinted seller trying to flog the popular Aldi Bluey plush chair.

Hitting stores earlier this year in April, the viral Bluey line quickly became a huge hit with shoppers, with toys costing less than ten dollars.

Among the items in the Specialbuys collection were Bluey’s Ice Cream Station, the Deluxe Park Playset, as well as the Bluey Heeler House to celebrate the beloved Australian cartoon.

But as the exclusive range existed for a limited time – with limited stock too – interested fans soon realized that some Aldi customers were reselling them for a fortune on platforms like Vinted.

The advert Harriet saw on the app was for the viral Bluey plush chair, which the retailer was offering for £25 in stores.

However, much to the mother’s surprise, the Vinted seller was asking an astronomical £100 – or four times the original price – for the same product.

This is why they should limit it to 1 per customer

The advert said: ”I know it costs £25 at Aldi. If you want, you can there for that price.

”But you probably won’t because it sold out so quickly.

”My price is £100 and I won’t accept anything less than that.”

The Vinted fan explained the logic behind the significant increase: ”When something is highly desired, its value increases.”

Shocked by the price, Harriet, who posts under the username @wallishharrietrevealed that this was the description that most attracted her.

”Yes, it sold out very quickly – because scum like you are buying it and then raising the price, triple, quadruple, to sell it on Vinted.

”I just think it’s really disgusting.”

After seeing the ad on the popular platform, the horrified mother reported it to Vinted – however, they reportedly insisted “it does not violate community guidelines.”

”I feel sorry for the people who wanted to buy this, for Christmas, for their children’s birthday, and they missed out – because of greedy, selfish people like that.”

When is the best time to shop at Aldi?

WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.

For reduced items – when stores open

Items with red stickers are rare across Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says none of its food goes to waste, so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.

A spokesperson for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommended retail price before stores open at their best time or best before date.”

This means you’ll have a better chance of finding reduced-price foods if you go to stores as soon as they open.

Opening hours vary depending on the store, but most open from 7am or 8am. You can find the hours of your nearest store using the supermarket online store finder tool.

For special purchases – Thursdays and Sundays

Special Buys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.

New stock arrives in stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally these are the best days to visit for the best one-off specials.

For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head to your local store during opening hours.

However, you don’t need to go to stores to buy a Specialbuy.

They are also on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and you can order them up to a week in advance.

As long as you spend at least £25, items will be delivered free of charge.

Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit asap

Harriet’s shocking discovery soon sparked fury among other parents and TikTok users, who rushed to share their frustration.

One Vinted customer said: “People were selling the McDonald’s Happy Meal Squishmallow for £20.”

Another considered: “That’s why they should limit it to 1 per customer”.

One mum added: “My daughter’s birthday is coming up and I wanted to get her one. I’m disappointed.”

However, as angry as some may be, not everyone saw a problem with the astronomical price increase to raise money.

One TikTok user wondered: ”Why should Vinted remove it?

”This happens in all sectors. If the price of an item rises due to demand, the owner has the right to sell it for whatever price he wishes.”

“It’s the people who actually pay these inflated prices that make people realize they can do it,” another person wrote.
