A WOMAN was left furious after taking a bet and booking a mystery holiday on Wowcher.

Sarah-Jayne Cullen explained that not only did she end up having to spend £1,200 of her own money on what was supposed to be a £99 trip, but she was also extremely disappointed when she arrived in Alicante, Spain.

The woman claimed that not only was the room “basic”, but the bathroom was “vile” and “rusty”.

Sarah-Jayne took to social media to share her experience of the mystery holiday, which is advertised online for £99.

With this vacation offer, you can win a trip to a variety of fabulous locations including the Maldives, Dubai, Egypt or New York, just to name a few.

Even if you don’t get the best options, you can still have a two-night vacation to destinations across Europe, including SpainPortugal, Greece and Italy.

A trip to Disneyland Paris or a Northern Lights tour are also available.

The offer offers 2,000 holidays and all include return flights from London airports including Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton.

But Sarah-Jayne was stunned at her hotel in Alicante, as she claimed: “Okay, this is your sign not to book a mystery Wowcher holiday deal.”

She revealed that she and her partner rented a car at the airport and drove to the hotel, but they were both horrified when they checked in and took a look at the room.

Sarah-Jayne added: “This was the room we got – the bathroom was awful, the bidet and radiators were rusty, the bathtub was rusty, the whole shower was disgusting, you wouldn’t even have put your dog in the room.”

Not only did she describe the room as “so basic,” but she also stated that the “huge duck egg blue hotel” looked “absolutely horrible.”

And it wasn’t just the room that she didn’t like, as she wasn’t impressed with the hotel’s atmosphere either.

She said: “So that’s what the hotel saw – a desert, basically – no bars, no restaurants, nothing in sight.”

The content creator revealed that “there was no Englishman in sight” and so the couple ended up booking another hotel.

Using their rental car, the couple drove to Benidorm and checked into a new luxury hotel, for which, of course, they had to pay extra.

Sarah-Jayne explained that the couple were “greeted with champagne” and called it “absolutely amazing”.

The woman then shared: “We had to pay an extra £450 for two nights in a different hotel, but luckily there were bars, restaurants and in cash it was absolutely incredible.

“We paid a little extra to go Lux because the other hotel we ended up in was absolutely disgusting.”
