THERE’S nothing like the hassle of having to lug two rubbish bins to the front of your house, ready for collection day.

But an experienced homeowner called Owen has been inundated with praise after sharing the ‘wheeled hack’ he uses to help move two bins at once – and people are saying it’s “genius”.

He demonstrated the quick and easy technique in a video he posted on TikTok (@mal247635), and people were quick to admit that they “can’t believe they didn’t think of this before.”

In the short clip, which lasts 36 seconds, Owen gives a step-by-step look at how he manages to move two bins at once in an attempt to save time.

“Well, after all these years of having trash cans and pushing them forward one at a time and pushing them back one at a time, I can’t believe I’ve been doing this all these years, when you can do this,” he says.

Owen then shows how he connects the two boxes.

Turning the bins in the same direction, he places the green bin in front and the brown bin in the back.

Good idea, Batman! I put away my trash and my neighbor’s trash. Clever

NextHe opens the two lids of the trash can, turning the brown one all the way back so that it is inside the green trash can.

Owen then closes the lid of the green bin to help secure the “chain”, which in turn allows him to pull the green bin while the brown bin is automatically carried behind.

According to the knowledgeable homeowner, his clever technique works on any size bin and is ideal for saving time at night when you put out your weekly rubbish.

It didn’t take long for the post to go viral, racking up an impressive 299,000 views and numerous comments from social media users.

“Good idea”, praised one.

I was fined £1,300 for ‘putting rubbish in my OWN bin’ – now I’m taking extreme measures to get back on the council

A second commented: “Well thought, Batman! I put mine and my neighbor’s trash can out.

A third enthused: “He looks super happy with himself – I love it!”

Meanwhile, a fourth called the hack a “game changer”, while another added: “Your genius.”

I had a two year trash war with my neighbor

Gemma Smith and Sophie Wood had a weekly fight for a year over their rubbish bins.

When Gemma moved in next door to Sophie, 34, who is unemployed, in November 2020, they were civil.

Gemma, who is single and doesn’t work due to stress, says: “Sophie seemed nice and we stopped to exchange pleasantries.

“But everything changed at the beginning of 2022, when Sophie’s bin was full and she put her rubbish bag in mine.

“I took it out and put it on top of her trash can.

“It fell, the seagulls pecked at it and there was rubbish everywhere.”

Both women refused to clean up the mess, claiming it was each other’s fault.

Gemma says: “I was really angry.

“There was cat litter all over my path – it was absolutely disgusting and we ended up shouting at each other.

“We were both as bad as each other – we would walk past each other and I would tell her she was a lazy cow and to clean up the mess.

“We would shout insults at each other.”

Within six months, Sophie had set up a CCTV camera and threatened to report Gemma to the council.

In retaliation, Gemma set up the baby monitor – which can record video – to try and pin more wrongdoing on Sophie.

Then, last July, Sophie saw Gemma crying on her doorstep after a burglary at her home.

Gemma says: “Sophie came straight over and asked if there was anything she could do.

“Now we are best friends and we help each other all the time.”
