Not only that, but the Doncaster mother-of-four, whose eldest son is 26 while her youngest is almost seven, also revealed that another hater claimed her son would grow up to be a ‘monster’.

Posting online, the content creator responded to a comment from a keyboard warrior who wrote: ‘You are so incredibly selfish, this child won’t have her mother when she’s 30, she won’t have her mother at her wedding or to share memories with when she has children.

Natalie made sure to applaud the nasty hater and questioned how anyone could be so “cruel and offensive.”

She said: “Pretty disturbing assumptions here, which I hope will prove to be wildly inaccurate.”

The experienced mother then stated that age in itself is “no guarantee of good health”, stressing that “people can die at any age”.

With that, the mother revealed that she tried not to take the comment “too seriously”.

Natalie, who also revealed that trolls also told her ‘older parents ruin their babies so much for creating monsters when they’re adults’, then added: “I had Millie at 43, this commenter is assuming I’ll be dead before I’m 73, which is quite worrying given I’m already 50. .”

She also stated that the average life expectancy is “just over 82 and a half years” and therefore admitted that she was not too bothered by the unpleasant comment.

But Natalie added: “I think we should be aware, although it doesn’t bother me, many people choose to have children later in life, not by choice but for a number of reasons.

“These types of people who have waited so long to have children may find comments like this incredibly upsetting and hurtful.”

People said I was too old to have a baby at 40, but I did it anyway, and again at 41 – I love being a ‘geriatric’ mom

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @middle-aged_mama50It clearly left many speechless, as it quickly racked up an impressive 81,500 views.

Social media users praised Natalie’s response and many rushed to the comments to share their messages of love and support for her mother.

You are not selfish at all

One person said: “What a beautiful and respectful response.”

Another added: “No one is guaranteed to have parents. Nobody knows what’s around the corner. You’re not selfish, you’re adorable.”

Having children later in life

It can be harder to get pregnant as you age and there are many reasons for this. One is that fertility declines as we age – for both men and women.

According to data published in The Daily TelegraphThe number of women becoming mothers for the first time in their forties has increased in recent years.

Today, one in every 25 births in the UK is to a woman over 40.

The British Fertility Society advises women to start trying to get pregnant no later than age 32 to have a 90% guarantee of having a child without resorting to IVF.

After the age of 30, a woman’s fertility decreases every year. The number and quality of her eggs decline until she reaches menopause.

Menopause usually occurs around age 45 to 55. During this period, women stop menstruating and are no longer fertile.

Older men may produce fewer sperm or lower quality sperm. Age-related decline in egg and sperm quality is associated with a greater chance of a child developing certain health conditions.

These include autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome and schizophrenia.

A third commented: “You are certainly not selfish at all, you enjoy every second with your son, age is just a number.”

While someone else wrote: “So many men have older children – would anyone tell them that?! You are not selfish at all.”

PARENTS OPEN UP

Meanwhile, many other parents flooded the comments, revealing how old they were when they had children.

One mother admitted: “I had my son at 42.”

A second shared: “I was 44 with my second. He’s amazing and he’ll be fine when we get older.”

A third wrote: “I got pregnant at 41. I am now 57 years old and have a 16 year old child. My oldest son is 37.”

While another explained: “My mother was 45 when I was born, she saw me get married and saw her grandson born, she was playing soccer with him at the age of 80 and lived until just before his 100th birthday. You are not selfish.”
