A TRAVELING woman has revealed the strict rules she was forced to adhere to when it came to her relationship.
Tracey and Mark King have been together for more than 30 years and have four children – but living in the Traveler community means there are certain things they can’t do in public.

On social media, Tracey revealed all after a follower asked the question: “Can I ask why you can’t hold hands in front of travellers, you make me laugh.”
The mother of four didn’t hold back and explained: “I was raised in a time where you don’t show anything to (your partner), you do what you do in your own privacy.
“In front of my parents or other travelers, I wouldn’t hold hands or kiss.”
“We were brought up to say that’s rude, that’s disrespectful.”
She continued, “So my parents would never see me hold Mark’s hands or definitely no kissing. God, no way.”
Tracey compared the rules to life in the “Victorian” era, but said she did not pass them on to her own children.

“But my kids would hold hands and not think twice, and I let them do that,” Tracey explained.
She also explained that in previous years she would not have been able to travel without her husband or have male friends, but the couple defied the rules set for them.
“Traditions are pretty outdated now,” she added.
Tracey revealed that she often encourages her daughters not to follow the traditions of the traveling community, including going out and finding a job, going on vacation, and waiting to have children.
Ending the video, Tracey said she would continue showing affection to her husband and doing what makes her happy.
She said, “Listen, you haven’t been on this earth long.
“Enjoy what you can enjoy, you know, because you don’t know what tomorrow will bring.”

Differences between a gypsy and a traveler
Typically, Gypsies is a term used to describe the Romani people, who migrated from India to Europe.
Meanwhile, Traveler refers to a group of people who generally have Irish, Scottish or English heritage.
Although many English Gypsy girls are allowed to drink alcohol and go on vacation with friends before getting married, many Irish Traveler girls are not allowed to do this.
Generally, both Gypsies and Travelers share the same morals.
