Posting under the handle Dbarou1he revealed that the project was completed in preparation for a work trip.

“I spent about 13 grand and did the entire project myself,” he said.

“I knew almost nothing before I started and by reading books/watching YouTube videos/just figuring things out, I was able to finish this build in about two and a half months.

“If you want to see more, you can check out my Instagram @danielbarousse for a more comprehensive look.”

The Redditor said the figure does not include the cost of his one-year-old van, which had 19,000 miles at the time of purchase.

Mercedes Sprinter vans start at $49,900 when purchased new.

He revealed the essential gadgets he bought for his life on the road.

“I’m using a Dometic CRX-65 S refrigerator,” he said.

“It’s a really energy-efficient 12V refrigerator with a Danvoss compressor, known to be one of the best in the industry.

“I have 300W of solar panels on the roof of the van that power all aspects of my electricity.”

A photograph of the tiny house shows plenty of storage solutions, a bed, and a cooking area.

He did not reveal where he showers or uses the bathroom.

FINAL TOUCHES

Thousands of people upvoted the post and took to the comments section marveling at the van’s conversion.

“You have one of the most beautiful sprinter conversions I have ever seen. Great job,” one person wrote.

“It’s beautiful,” said another.

“The only suggestion I have is that you might want some kind of curtain or screen between the cooking area and the bed, because if you cook anything there, your bed will get dirty.

“Bed cupboards have existed in Brittany and Cornwall for a long time and are extremely cosy.”

Among the top commenters was one person whose eyes were drawn to an unexpected feature.

“Is that a banana hammock hanging under the cabinets?” they wrote. “’Do you want to go back to my van and see my banana hammock?’”

The nomad was amused by the comment and confirmed that it was exactly that.

“At first glance, I thought it was a basketball hoop,” said another.
