I often pretend I’m pregnant and people even let me skip the bathroom line because they’re convinced of my ‘little bump’.

A WOMAN has revealed she feels so bloated after eating that she often pretends she is pregnant.

Alma explained that she struggles so much with her body’s changing shape after dinner that she has started pretending she is pregnant.

She demonstrated this in a video on her TikTok page, showing herself leaving a meal in a skin-tight white dress.

She clutched her belly, which was visibly protruding, as she walked.

Alma also pouted for the camera as she strutted her stuff, cradling her “belly” as she did so.

“When you’re bloated and have to pretend you’re pregnant,” she wrote over her TikTok video.

And Alma even revealed to Fabulous that her pretense is so realistic that people often let her jump in front of them in the bathroom line.

They also give up their seat for her on the train when they see her baby bump.

“I really appreciate it,” Alma told us.

“People are very kind.

“It’s such a painful thing.”

In the comments section, Alma quickly discovered that she wasn’t the only one suffering from painful bloating — or that her stomach had been mistaken for pregnancy.

I pretend I’m pregnant when I’m bloated – people give up their seats for me and my baby to happily accept

“This is what my belly looks like all the time, people always ask me if I’m pregnant,” one person sighed.

“Someone once offered me a seat on a train after I went to an all-you-can-eat pizza lunch,” added another.

“I did this today in Primark because I was on my period,” commented a third.

With Alma responding: “Valid!”

“Someone asked me when I was due. I’m carrying a two week old baby in a car seat and I just ate chipotle,” said another person.

“I was like… oh, two weeks ago.

“She said, ‘Oh, they come when they come’!”

“Me if I look at the cheese,” added another.

Bloating: foods to eat and avoid

Eating the right foods can prevent bloating and also reduce it when it occurs.

But it depends entirely on what your symptoms are.

If you are bloated and constipated, eat:

  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Bran Flakes
  • Oat
  • Potatoes with skin
  • Dried fruits, such as apricots and raisins

If you have trapped wind, avoid:

  • Cabbage and other cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli and kale
  • Beans (boiled, kidney, butter)
  • Lentils

These foods, including legumes like beans and lentils, are good to add slowly to your diet as they are high in fiber.

Although it is not advisable to help in the moment, they help in the long term by improving gut health.

Try adding them slowly to your diet.

If you are bloated and have diarrhea, you may have a stomach bug and should eat:

  • Simple foods: banana, white rice, bread or toast
  • Boiled potatoes
  • Oat
  • Small, frequent meals

Other tips to prevent swelling are:

  • Exercise regularly
  • Chew with your mouth closed
  • Eat smaller, more frequent meals than large meals
  • Avoid soda, alcohol or caffeine
  • Limit processed, sugary, spicy or fatty foods

“I’m glad this happens to other people too, I thought it was just me,” said another person.

“Literally me every time I eat something!” another admitted.

“This is so validating, I feel like this!” someone wrote.

“Plus, you look amazing!”

Another called it a “fabulous hack”, while others were more concerned about the origin of Alma’s dress – to which she revealed that she had stolen it from Shein.
