However, along with good weather comes flies, but don’t worry, a cleaner has a cheap pest control solution.

The Arizona-based Airbnb cleaner revealed that she prefers a simple household product to solve the problem.

While the state may be dealing with its annual influx of cicadas, there weren’t any in sight while Kelcee filmed her hack.

Instead, she focused on deterring common insects, particularly flies.

Kelcee used a bottle of Original Pine-Sol All-Purpose Cleaneravailable for $4.59 at Target to solve your pest problem.

She simply put a capful of the solution in a bucket of water before dumping it on the concrete in her backyard.

Using a brush, she ensured that the strong smell spread throughout the area.

She informed the audience that she “only saw two flies all day” after rubbing the product.

His followers shared their thoughts on the technique in the comments section.

“I have a spray bottle with Pine-Sol, I spray it on flies or around my patio table. They definitely don’t like it,” said another TikTok user.

“If it doesn’t repel flies, it’s clean as hell,” commented a third person.

“I have it in a spray bottle on my porch and it works perfectly!” said another follower.

“It works, also if you add [it] in a spray bottle and spray around doors and windows, it will also repel other insects! [I] I learned that in Alabama,” one viewer wrote.

“I put it in a spray bottle and sprayed the entire yard around the door frame. There were no flies at our luau pool party,” another person commented.

“Cedarwood oil is a natural mosquito repellent! It probably really works!!” said a follower.

Tips for Keeping Pests in Your Garden

  • Plant companion plants, such as peppermint, to repel mice.
  • Place Garden Netting Pest Barrier$8, Amazon, about your flower beds.
  • Fill open containers with beer and place in the soil to repel slugs.
  • Spray plants with Neem Oil$9, Target, to repel ants, flies, and spiders.
  • Sprinkle your flowerbeds with diatomaceous earth$8.26, Amazon.
  • Mix 1 tablespoon of dish soap, 10 drops of peppermint oil and 4 cups of water and spray on flower beds.
  • Place eggshells around plants to protect them from slugs and snails.

Pest control professionals in My Natural Guard explained why the product works so well to prevent bugs.

“An examination of Pine-Sol’s active ingredients reveals its potential to repel several insect species,” they explained.

“Pine-Sol contains a combination of chemicals including pine oil, surfactants and fragrances.

“Pine oil, derived from pine trees, has been found to have insecticidal properties and can act as a natural insect deterrent.”

Experts add that the surfactants in the product “help break down the waxy protective layer of insects, making them more susceptible to dehydration and other forms of damage.”
