Editor Cantorgreen shared the gardening tip in a viral post.

“Gardener’s tip: Store your gloves in an airtight container to keep bugs from snuggling in,” they said.

They showed off the plastic container they used to safely store their gardening gloves.

After a chilling encounter with a creature, they explained that they needed to adapt to protect themselves.

“I rarely wear gloves when gardening because I’m afraid of spiders (I live in Texas). This is a great idea,” said one commenter.

“I’m from Texas. I started holding back my gloves after an encounter with a brown inmate,” the Redditor responded.

“But I love wearing gloves because I think it’s important to protect my hands.”

“I used to work for engineering companies that did a lot of refinery work in Louisiana,” said another viewer.

“Our security guard taught us to always take your gloves and slam them really hard against a wall or other hard object to kill anything that might have crawled inside.

“Black widows are a big problem there, and they like the little warm hiding spots against pipes and benches that need to be heated to carry out whatever process is going on there.

‘Lazy gardener’ praised for ‘brilliant’ hack that saves time and energy digging holes ‘Work smarter, not harder’

“He claims that several employees have lost fingers to bites from brown inmates or Black Widow over the years because they didn’t listen. I always do this, even at home.”

Many viewers were grateful for his helpful little trick.

“This is genius! My husband didn’t shake off his gloves this weekend and ended up with two spider bites!” said one.

“I once put my hand in a glove that had earwigs on it and I’m terrified of earwigs,” said another.

“I approve of that tip! It was about two and a half decades ago and I’ve never forgotten it. I hate putting on gloves to this day and often just don’t use them and instead deal with all the dirt under my nails.”

“Damn. This is brilliant! I always shake out my garden gloves and then stomp on them to get rid of whatever is in there (we have Black Widows here). This is a much better idea,” said a third.

While they were proud of their cheap trick, more experienced gardeners raised concerns about other problems the tip could present.

“This is a bad idea unless you live in the Atacama Desert and never worry,” said one.

“Any type of moisture will create bacteria and mold 100% of the time.”

“If you want smelly gloves, follow this simple trick,” agreed another.

The Redditor, however, prepares the gloves in advance to keep the smells at bay.

“That’s true. I dry my gloves before putting them in the container,” they replied.
