PEOPLE are shaming a bride for “branding” her bridesmaids with a personalized accessory for her ceremony.

Even worse, she made them foot the bill for the obligatory jewelry.

Editor Suzy9mm shared their wedding drama in a viral post.

“It takes a lot to surprise me, but this bride just blew me away,” they prefaced.

They explained that their co-worker attended a wedding ceremony that shocked them deeply.

“I asked her how it was and she said she had a lot of fun and started showing me some photos,” they said.

“She looks absolutely radiant and the location is beautiful. By all accounts, it looked like it was an absolutely lovely day.”

The situation quickly escalated when they noticed she was wearing a strange necklace.

“[The] the bride basically tags all her bridesmaids,” they said.

“She’s looking at her camera roll when, after a dozen photos, she shows me a selfie in which I notice she’s wearing a gold necklace that says ‘Emily.’

“The thing is, my coworker’s name is Meredith.

“Guys… This damn bride actually made all her bridesmaids get necklaces WITH HER NAME ON IT!”

I thought I’d found the perfect wedding guest dress – but I was fooled by it being ‘too short’ and ‘nightgown-like’

The Redditor couldn’t help but laugh at the scenario.

“I’m DYING. Who the hell does this!? I’m sorry, but isn’t this hilariously insane!?” they said.

“All of her bridesmaids had to pay for and wear ‘Emily’ necklaces to the wedding. If I was able to shut up, I would be speechless.”

While Meredith didn’t mind the jewelry, the Redditor explained that it permanently colored the bride’s outlook.

“No names have been changed, so Emily, if you’re reading this, Meredith spoke highly of you and your event… because she’s the sweetest person who ever lived,” they said.

“I’m the one who thinks you’re crazy and that’s why I shame you.”

Others agreed that the mandatory purchase was not just a little “eccentric” but completely off the rails.

“This is my favorite story I’ve read here in a while. What a rare and beautiful mix of very low stakes and also completely unbalanced,” said one commenter.

“I really want to know what the thought process was behind that decision.”

“The bridesmaids promised to name their firstborn Emily. ALL OF THEM”, joked another.

“Even if they only have children,” added a third.

“Have we ever stopped to think that the bridesmaids may have gotten lost and this was the information the rescue services needed to guide them to the right wedding?” joked one commentator.

“Meredith needs to adopt a dog and name her Emily. So, she can attach that necklace to the dog’s collar,” suggested another.
