YOU’VE GOT MAIL

At first glance, the email looks like any other, but a deeper dive shows the danger.

Phishing is a type of scam in which a cybercriminal sends a deceptive message with the intention of stealing personal information.

Some ways to identify them are to pay attention to spelling errors.

It is also essential to be sure of all links before clicking on them.

Email addresses can be easily faked, but this one in particular has a clear spelling error.

Checking the time a message was sent is also essential, as phishing scams are often sent outside of normal business hours.

People should also be careful when clicking on unrecognizable attached files.

If you’re still having trouble spotting signs of a dodgy email, look at the greeting, link, email address, a misspelling in the body of the email, the time it was sent, and the attachment.

What is phishing?

Here’s what you need to know…

  • Phishing is a type of online fraud
  • Typically it is an attempt to capture some of your data
  • Phishing often involves scammers posing as trusted entities
  • For example, fraudsters may send you an email claiming to be your bank, asking for details
  • Scammers may also create fake websites that look real, simply to trick you
  • Phishing can occur via email, social media, text messages, phone calls, and more
  • The best defense against phishing is to be skeptical of web links and emails, especially if they were unsolicited
Telltale signs include misspellings, strange attachments, external links, spoofed addresses, and shipping times outside of normal business hours

APPLE, LIKE FRUIT

For those who need an apple for a snack instead of an Apple for a computer, we’ve got you covered.

Hidden among dozens of tomatoes are three nutritious apples.

Artist Gergely Dudas created the optical illusion so that puzzle lovers could find the fruit.

Everyone can see Rubik’s cubes, but you have 20/20 vision if you can spot the odd cube – 1 in 3 can’t see it

The variety of smiling tomatoes could easily be mistaken for apples.

In the cartoon art, some of the fruits are smiling, and one of them even sticks out its tongue.

Another appears to be laughing.

Locating all three apples in less than 20 seconds is an especially impressive feat.

If you’re still having trouble locating them, one of them is in the top right corner.

Another apple can be found in the bottom center of the image.

The final apple can be found in the lower left corner of the artwork.
