HOW IS IT DONE

First, Mathews discussed integrating smart technology into the home.

“Integrating smart home technology into your property is no longer a luxury, it is now a necessity,” she said.

Some examples include voice-controlled assistants, automated lighting, and climate control systems.

The change can make the house more modern.

She also recommended open-concept floor plans for easy access between rooms.

Mathews also added not to neglect outdoor spaces, saying the line between indoor and outdoor living is blurred these days.

One upgrade she suggested could also save money in the long run – by becoming energy efficient.

WORKING AT HOME

Mathews emphasized current homebuyer expectations.

“The pandemic has highlighted the importance of dedicated home office spaces,” she said.

She also said that a little luxury can go a long way, including in the bathroom.

Mathews highlighted amenities such as a walk-in shower and heated floors.

She didn’t hold back when it came to a kitchen makeover.

“The kitchen remains the heart of your home,” she said.

“And buyers are more than willing to invest when it comes to high-quality upgrades.”

Lastly, she mentioned curb appeal in the form of quality landscaping.

“With these cutting-edge renovations, homeowners can not only create a more pleasant space, but also position their properties to attract buyers,” she said.

“AND [they can] potentially command higher sale prices in the competitive real estate market of 2024.”
