I’m no Karen, but my neighbors at City Council are a nightmare – sitting in sweaters and lighting a fire outside my window

A WOMAN was left horrified by her nightmarish neighbors partying constantly and lighting bonfires beneath her window.

The young woman had just moved out of her old council house because her former neighbor had 25 cats, which left her unable to breathe, but it appears things have gotten worse.

She revealed that after settling into her new one-bedroom property, she got new neighbors who were causing so much trouble that the police were called.

Taking to Mumsnet she said: “I’ve been living here for almost a year, Cool area, finally settling in, listed are things my new neighbors did within two weeks of living on this property.

The first day they moved in, they tripped over the electrical part, an accident for sure, but what happened next it was just rude.

She revealed that they spent the night raiding people’s meter cupboards to find the fuse switch until 6am, waking her up.

Then their new neighbors decided to throw a big party just two days after moving in.

“Full of parties, children, adults coming and going, smoking, drinking. Sort of a practice tennis party, loud chatter in and out all night,” she added.

The next day was no better, as they woke up at 8am on Sunday and decided to play music all day.

The following week they did exactly the same thing, with music playing all day, as well as drilling noises,

She added that despite it being a one-bedroom property, four to five people kept coming and forming the house.

The following weekend things got even worse with a party that ended in arguments and throwing things that led to the police being called – but the party continued after they left.

Although she probably expected some respite from the first week of hell, she got none as they lit a fire under her window every day the second week they moved in to ‘discard God knows’.

“Now I’m no Karen, but surely you can’t be that reckless?” she said.

“I work and pay my rent and don’t I think I should be woken up every day? I know some people don’t have good manners.”

The post soon attracted the attention of many others Mothers Network users and people agreed that their new neighbors looked horrible.

What it’s really like to grow up on a council estate

Fabulous reporter Leanne Hall recalls what it’s like growing up in social housing.

As someone who grew up in a public housing apartment building, there are so many crazy stories I could tell.

From seeing a neighbor throw dog poop at the janitor for asking them to mow the lawn (believe me they ended up on the Jeremy Kyle show later in life) to fierce fights over missing packages, I’ve seen it all.

Although things often get started, I truly believe that most of the time it is because families living in housing projects know each other so well that they forget that they are neighbors and not family.

Yes, things can go from zero to 100 quickly, but you know that no matter what, you can count on your neighbor to borrow milk or watch all the kids playing outside.

And if you ask me, it’s much better to be in a strict community where boundaries can be crossed than to never know your neighbor’s name while living on a fancy street.

One person wrote: “Horrible for you and the other neighbors, have you actually spoken to the other neighbors on the block?

Another commented: “This looks absolutely horrible. If they are a council tenant, have you contacted them to let them know? I assume you can record things on your phone as evidence? They look like animals.”

“It sounds horrible. Some people are totally self-centered. You need to report this to the police every time,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “They’re not thinking about the neighbors, they’re just crazy in general! It’s so unfair that you had to go through two such horrible circumstances, you’re not the one being picky.”

“I’m sorry to hear about your living conditions – your new neighbors seem like a nightmare,” said a fifth.

Another person added: “I feel sorry for you OP, your neighbors are terrible and inconsiderate. Congratulations on keeping the list. Report everything.”
