A WOMAN has opened up about how her brother’s best friend ruined her wedding day.
Not only did the friend choose her reception to profess her love for her brother, but her brother was already taken.
Editor Original-Move8786 shared their wedding drama in a viral post.
Years after her wedding day, she reflected on her magical big day that didn’t happen.
“This is an older story because I, as a bride at the time, only realized how horrible it was years later,” she said.
“I’ve been married for almost thirty years.
“But everyone who attended my wedding only remembers one event that occurred. And it has nothing to do with my actual nuptials.”
She explained that her brother and her longtime best friend were present at her ceremony.
“She actually chose my wedding reception to declare her love for my brother,” she said.
Unfortunately for her and her brother, the best friend’s timing couldn’t have been worse.
“He was already engaged to his college girlfriend,” she said.
“This led to a confrontation in the middle of the reception.”
Much to his disappointment, his family became involved in the drama.
“Instead of protecting and defending myself and my husband, my family rallied around my brother,” she said.
“The worst part was that no one, including my immediate family, shut it down.
“And no one really acknowledged that this drama wasn’t fair to me or my husband.”
He was already engaged to his college sweetheart.

The woman added that she seemed unable to escape the events of that day.
“Even now, years later, any conversation about my marriage with relatives is focused on the fight,” she said.
Worse than having her marriage overshadowed, she explained that she and her husband are still constantly undermined.
“The worst part is that whenever my husband or I brought up how unfair this situation was for us, we were met with a huge backlash about how difficult this was for my brother,” she said.
“My brother was always the golden middle child, who did nothing wrong.”
Unlike her family, viewers sided with her.
“It was crazy of the friend to choose that moment to confess. Zero self-awareness,” said one commenter.
Others suggested ways to replace the ruined moment with a happier memory.
“Why don’t you and your husband renew your vows and have the wedding you deserve?” suggested one commenter.
‘You can choose a destination like Las Vegas or Hawaii or even a cruise. Create new happy, drama-free memories centered on yourselves.
“If possible, I suggest you and your husband remarry only the people you want or just the two of you!” supported another.
“Create a new happy memory and marry your husband again and again.”
