SAVING money for a house deposit can be daunting, but a 26-year-old has told how she managed to save £8,700 in just 100 days.

Jackie Mitchell challenged herself to save £80 a day by doing side hustles and passive income streams.

Jackie from Ohio tried over 12 parallel trials to find out which was best for her and her goal of salvation.

She and her husband were saving, but Jackie wanted to pay the final amount within 100 days.

Not only did she achieve her goal, but she did so 11 days early.

Jackie said CNBC Do it: “It’s so amazing to remind myself that small amounts of money make a big difference.

“It’s kind of encouraging to think that even if you make $5 a day, $5 is a lot better than $0.”

One of the side hustles she recommended and gave a 5/5 rating was the research site Prolific.

In a video about her @jaclynmitchelll account, she said, “A lot of these surveys are about 10 to 15 minutes long, they’re not long, but you can see the hourly rate you’re getting paid for them.”

Her next The recommendation was to do focus groups to get some extra money, and you can earn $100 (£80) for an hour of work.

She also loved Swagbucks, where you can earn rewards by taking surveys.

The length and amount of money you receive for surveys vary – some can take five to 10 minutes, while others can take days.

Either way, they can earn you a lot if you have some free time to kill in the evenings or on the weekends.

Jackie also had some brand deals stemming from the launch of a TikTok series about his challenge, but says he “doesn’t want his page to become a big advertisement.”

Another way to make money was to get paid to prepare meals for a friend.

She explained: “I cooked at his apartment and enjoyed it, but I didn’t feel like I had a good rhythm and I felt stressed all the time, so I need to get better at pre-planning everything and I think it could be fun.”

One of their most profitable activities is data annotation, but Jackie reported that it is quite difficult as you first need to go through an assessment and then edit and mark up large sets of data.

She also sold Facebook Marketplace as a “supplement” but said he would find it difficult to make $100 a day from it.

It’s been so amazing to remind myself that small amounts of money make a big difference.

Jackie advised that if you have a specific amount of money you want to make, you should break it down into smaller goals.

She explained: “If you have a goal of paying off a car loan of $8,000 (£6,422), try to work out how much you can reasonably make in six months. What does this look like every month, every week, every day?”

She has amassed over 125,000 followers on TikTok thanks to her money-saving hacks and advises sites like Reddit to discover new side hustles.

She added: “There is a really good Reddit called r/beer money and it’s exactly what it sounds like – it won’t be anything like a remote job from home that will pay the bills full-time, but it will give you a little extra cash on the side.

However, she admits that saving money can take a toll and often sacrifices social events to spend three to four hours a day on her side hustle.
