A tired woman threw in the towel when her husband gave her a bath limit.

Although she initially understood his intention, she said she had had enough.

The Redditor shared his frustration and marriage woes in a viral post.

“This is the weirdest thing my husband has ever done,” she said.

She prefaced that although she is fed up with him at this point, her husband is “sweet and loving” and she “loves him more than anything.”

“Divorce is not an option just to get this out there before the comments come in,” she said.

She admitted that although she loves him, her husband has always been “a little over the top.”

“He’s a computer programmer and super smart, but he also believes in all kinds of things,” she said.

“Both real and conspiratorial. Lately, he’s been very concerned about the environment and global warming.”

“About two months ago, he became very worried about the water. Yes, water.

“He is concerned about the quality of the water. He installed a new filter system in our house, which I love because it tastes so much better.”

Her husband’s fixation with water, however, quickly worsened.

“But he is also concerned about how much water we use. Not because of the money, but because of the environment,” she said.

“He created a new rule that we can only take two showers a week. Now I’m someone who likes to take a shower every day before bed. I just don’t like feeling dirty in bed.”

Despite her preferences, she quickly discovered that her husband’s new rule was non-negotiable.

“It created the biggest conflict in our marriage in 20 years,” she said.

“He is obsessed with how much water we use. At first, I just ignored his rule, but he turned off the hot water while I was in the shower.”

The situation reached a point where she had to look to outside sources for water.

“I started trying to use the shower at the gym, but it’s a lot of work having kids every night,” she said.

“I honestly thought he would get over it within a month. But he’s still stuck in it to this day.”

She revealed when she finally reached her boiling point.

“Last night, I really wanted to take a shower, but I had ‘fulfilled my quota,’ as he says,” she said.

“I said I’m taking a shower and he better not do anything. But about two minutes later, the hot water was turned off.

“I grabbed my towel, went downstairs and started screaming. Telling him that was the stupidest thing he’s ever done. I also told him I’m moving in with my parents if he doesn’t stop this.

“Guys, I love this man. He’s everything to me, but I can’t take this anymore. Am I going too far by threatening to move out?”

Viewers agreed that the situation was much more serious than a drop in the ocean.

“This is insanely controlling and I hate it when people do things like this. The amount of water used in a home is incomparable to the amount used by companies that are actually harming the environment,” said one commenter.

“There are 300 million Americans. A family suffering to save water won’t make a difference,” agreed another.

“Your husband needs to seek therapy on this issue. Shower every day.”
