People say they would skip couple’s wedding due to ‘banana’ dress code: ‘You’ll never be able to wear your outfit again’

THE WEDDING dress code has people scratching their heads, and some say they would skip the ceremony altogether.

One of them even told one of the guests that she would never be able to wear that outfit again.

Editor Bright Alarm7671 posted her dress choices on the social media platform.

She asked other Reddit users for advice on which outfit to choose for the matrimonial affair.

“I have a wedding in Florida in two months,” she said.

“It’s a seaside resort, and the dress code is just cream and tan.

“Deciding between these three dresses.”

DRESS STRESS

The Redditor included swatches of the exact requested colors for guests to use.

Many of the shades were variations of beige and off-white.

She also shared photos of three competing dresses to wear to the event.

First, she posted the Lace maxi dress with ruffles and sleeves$71.91, for Lucy In The Sky in Cream.

She also added the Open back lace mermaid maxi dress$62.91, for Lucy in Heaven.

Finally, she posted the Strapless dress with slit and lace ruffles$55.92, also from Lucy In The Sky.

FASHION POLICE

Several Redditors gave their opinion on the wedding’s unusual dress code.

“I would honestly skip a wedding like this,” one said.

“But if you really want to go, three is better. However, if it costs a lot more than the others, choose the cheapest one.

“That’s what they deserve for this dress code.”

“I would be extremely tempted to wear my wedding dress, which wasn’t traditional/it was a dress that happens to be ivory and matches what they’re asking for, because they’re asking for something crazy,” said a third.

“And while I like a specific dress code, such as one that conforms to the generally understood rules of cocktail, formal, [or] black tie.

“That way you can respect the couple and their wishes without having to make assumptions or buy a dress in a certain shade of ivory that you can never wear again.

“This one is beyond bananas.”

“This bizarre request reeks of privilege and entitlement,” said another.

“I’m not going to lie, I’d probably skip the whole damn wedding out of sheer boredom. Dictating the color palette your guests wear is pretty obnoxious, but beige?”
