A CLEANING genius has cracked the code for fresh-smelling clothes.

She said she uses a specific detergent on problematic clothing, including activewear and heavily soiled items with strong odors, such as dog urine.

Editor Material-double3268 released the details in a comment on the social media platform.

She said using her cleaner for tough jobs has changed her laundry game.

The mother specified that she doesn’t always use it, but it is useful for smelling clothes.

She recommended using it on stubborn odors trapped in clothing.

WHAT DOES SHE USE?

She revealed that she adds an enzymatic cleaner to her washing machine instead of regular detergent.

“OdoBan has an enzyme cleaner that I added to laundry, but there are others as well,” she said.

“If that doesn’t work, I would try adding OdoBan disinfectant to the wash or maybe some Angry Orange odor remover.”

OdoBan disinfectant and odor eliminator concentrate it sells for $19.99 on Amazon.

Angry Orange Odor Eliminator It’s also on Amazon for a little less at $17.96.

“Also, use warm or hot water to eliminate body odor,” she added.

“In my experience, cold water doesn’t really cut it when it comes to serious body odor issues in fabrics.

“My gym clothes will smell bad if I don’t wash them in warm water with [an] enzymatic cleaner.”

She also recommended another detergent she uses for unpleasant smells.

My all-knowing aunt gave me the best laundry tip and I’ll never go back – it’s free and great for buying detergent in bulk

“I use Dropps Laundry Pods,” she said.

Dropps Stain & Odor Laundry Detergent Capsules are available on the brand’s website and are sold for US$26 for a single purchase or a 25% discount for a subscription.

“They can be a little pricey, but they work really well,” she explained.

“The company has a capsule for sportswear that contains enzymatic cleaner along with the detergent in the capsule.

“I don’t use the activewear pods to wash everything, but I do use them on smelly clothes like kid or dog pee blankets.”

According to Center for Disease Control and Preventionn (CDC)Enzymatic cleaners work by attacking the source of the smell.

The formulations specifically neutralize strong odors originating from potentially smelly sources such as bodily fluids.

Tip for removing yellow sweat stains

Yellow spots underarms affect everyone, whether people admit it or not. But there is help available. To remove yellow stains from clothes, experts recommend the following methods:

  • Baking soda paste: Professionals in The Laundry Café I recommend mixing a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with a tablespoon of salt and ½ cup of baking soda. Apply directly to the stain with a toothbrush, scrub and let the mixture sit for at least an hour and then wash as normal.
  • Oxygen Bleach: This method is equally useful for removing yellow stains. Mix one part oxygen bleach with one part ammonia in a non-metallic bowl. Wear gloves during this application. Rub it into the fabric with a toothbrush and let the solution sit for at least ten minutes before washing normally.
  • Stain remover or detergent: Stains on collars can be difficult to remove, like underarm stains. Therefore, pre-treat the area using a stain remover or solvent-based detergent. Apply the product to the collar with a toothbrush and let it sit for at least ten minutes before washing.
