In the clip, Bettie opened her porch door to reveal her neighbor playing his guitar for everyone to hear.

While it might be nice to do this occasionally, Bettie revealed that it was constant and if he wasn’t playing his instrument, he was preaching and complaining to the neighbors in his garden.

Bettie said, “So we have a nightmare neighbor who spends all day, every day on his porch, preaching and complaining and threatening people or singing and playing his guitar very loudly.

“I decided it was time to start fighting fire with fire yesterday.”

And Bettie sure did.

She went out onto the porch and placed a speaker on it.

She then flashed a cheeky smile for the camera as she pressed play on her phone to get the party started.

With her speaker at full volume, she began playing Black Eyed Pea’s viral hit – Shut Up.

And it seemed the neighbor got the message when Bettie revealed it worked for several hours.

However, his neighbor soon started again that night.

Neighborhood nightmares: stories of disputes gone wrong

The clip posted on his account @Bettie Moon It has since gone viral with over 328,000 views and 30,000 likes.

People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments and praised Bettie for her revenge tactic.

One person wrote: “Tell me it worked?!”

“For a few hours! Then he caught his breath and gave a speech/rant to us all for the night,” Bettie replied.

Another commented: “The perfect answer.”

“Brilliant – it’s traumatic to have neighbors like that,” wrote a third.

The top five reasons for fights between neighbors

A study by Compare the Market revealed the main reason why the British neighbor argues

  1. Broken Fences – At the top of the board were broken fences and whose responsibility it was to fix them
  2. Parking: a major driver of disputes between neighbors, with 54.1 percent of people having problems with people parking in front of their house, parking space or driveway
  3. Trees – complaints about a neighbour’s tree breaking their garden path were also common, with almost half of participants finding it frustrating
  4. Trash Wars – Outdoor Trash Etiquette Continues to Spark the Furiest Debates Between Neighbors
  5. Nosy neighbors – some people have eyes and ears ready to take a peek, causing trouble for others

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “The song choice is 10/10.”

“This is iconic,” said a fifth.

Someone else added: “This is amazing, good for you.”
