Needmore Farms (@needmorefarms) has gained more than 146 thousand followers on Instagram, sharing home and garden tips.

As spring brought warmer days, many homeowners noticed an increase in the number of critters eating their plants.

An infestation of biting and stinging insects can also make relaxing on the patio or porch less appealing.

The gardening enthusiast recommended placing a pot with a strong-smelling plant in areas where insects may frequent.

She said bug-repellent planters can be positioned on outdoor tables for a “bug-free spring.”

She suggested filling the jars with basil, lemongrass, lemon thyme, sage and lavender.

She revealed that different plant varieties can be equally effective at deterring pests.

Herbs not only look elegant in a garden, but they can also be used to add flavor to cooking.

Nearly 26,000 viewers liked the video and many took to the comments section to say they were grateful for the advice.

“I’m definitely going to plant this in my trailer,” one person said.
