Editor Tiffany_Heggebo shared the wedding tip in a post.

“I just had my wedding and did all the dried florals,” she said.

Not only did dried flowers free up money for other things at your wedding, they also freed up time.

“It saved me a lot of money, and because I didn’t have to worry about them wilting, I had a year to get it all done and there was no stress beforehand,” she said.

The bride explained that she asked the local community for help to obtain the flowers.

“I bought a few bouquets, but for most of the flowers, I joined a local Facebook group and asked everyone for bouquets they had that they were about to throw away,” she said.

“Right after Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day were the best, especially because I had planned to use lots of red roses and baby’s breath.”

The process of drying the flowers, she explained, only required a few materials.

“I hung them up to dry and sprayed them with hairspray,” she said.

“The only downside was the amount of space they took up.

“But I managed to finish everything 4 months in advance, kept a basket of spare parts just in case, stored the parts and threw away what I didn’t need to clean up the mess.”

The project was quite inexpensive considering wedding flowers can cost over thousands of dollars.

“In total, including ribbon, floral tape, wire, etc. I spent about $100 on florals,” she said.

One of them explained that although the project took many hours, she was able to save money by planning everything herself.

“I used sola wood flowers, Michaels, and greenery from Walmart for my wedding and organized everything myself!” she said.

“It was a huge task. Probably 60 hours in total planning, dying and arranging the flowers and a lot of mental energy.

Although it took a long time, she explained that the investment was worth it, mainly because she managed to recover most of the money.

“But it only cost $400 and I got a few hundred back when I resold it, so it was worth it to me.”

“Supporting this! I made sola wood flowers and just ordered fresh leaves (eucalyptus and baby’s breath),” said another.

“If you like the DIY process, working on the flowers is so much fun!”
