YOU never know where life will take you, and one woman proved just that after quitting her job to become a full-time hula hoop.
The former engineer broke several world records in this unique sport.
In the last years, Andreia M. he perfected a niche skill in the world of hula hooping and has since begun performing all over the world.
The artist went viral online for her record-breaking hula hoop attempts using her butt and breasts.
Since leaving her job in science, Andrea has broken 10 Guinness World Records.
The London native explained that she never expected to pursue such an active path.
“It was by chance, I wasn’t a sportsman, but five years ago I picked up a hula hoop and it changed my life,” she said.
“I have broken 10 Guinness World Records so far. I’m training for several others.”
She described her record-breaking attempts as “very addictive because of the challenge of pushing myself even harder.”
“I have a PhD in engineering and a few years ago I quit my job at a university to practice hula hooping full time,” she explained.

She focused all her attention on improving and became progressively better over time.
Andrea was inspired by her fellow hula hoops and decided to win as many prizes as possible.
She broke her first Guinness World Record in 2020 for the most hula hoop spins on her butt, 400.
Andrea would later break the record again in 2022 with 453 spins.
She broke six other records, beating her personal best on two more occasions, bringing the tally to 10.
“I was inspired by other hula hoops who broke world records, and as I got better at hula hooping, I decided to go for a record, hula hoop on my butt,” she said.
“My first album in 2020 required a lot of training and effort, but it was very exciting.”

She also praised the unique hobby for helping her get in better shape.
“Five years ago, I couldn’t do this because I was very unfit and unsportsmanlike,” Andrea explained.
“But I practiced music every day, at home, in parks throughout the confinement, in gyms and in city squares.
“At first, I learned from tutorial videos on the Internet and then I discovered that there is a very large community of hula hoops and teachers in London and around the world.”
Andrea revealed that she has made “a lot of new friends” since she started playing sport.
“People think it’s really funny that I hula hoop my butt, and they usually laugh when they see it and are really surprised that it’s possible,” she said.
“Usually they have never seen this before. They are often curious to try it, I love making people smile and laugh with my hula hoop.”
