The Redditor MomBFVacuum shared her relationship dilemma in a post.

The 26-year-old explained that a car accident claimed the life of her single mother almost three years ago, leaving her and her sister “devastated”.

She was shocked to see her fiance of four years, Ben, not wanting to be the support she needed.

“He’s always been a blunt guy who’s not very good at dealing with emotions (especially if they’re someone else’s bad emotions),” she explained.

Her mindset, she revealed, came from her childhood and the philosophies passed down by her father.

After his mother passed away, Ben moved out of the apartment to stay with a friend “not even two weeks later” and his sister moved out to seek support.

She explained that Ben’s “clumsy attempts at comfort” often made things worse.

After his friend’s girlfriend called him a “sociopath” for letting her deal with her pain, it sparked a moment of realization.

“Apparently this inspired some self-reflection and he started to see things from my perspective,” she said.

“I wanted to break up at first and my sister agreed, but he begged for a chance to patch things up.

“I was so incapacitated by pain at the time that I didn’t have the energy to fight. He took the initiative to do individual therapy for himself and couples therapy for us,” she added.

“I could see he was making a real effort to change, so overall we stayed together and eventually got engaged.”

Despite her sister’s protests, the two moved forward with planning the wedding.

That is until she found out about his serious offense.

He immediately turned pale and I knew he had something to do with it.

She explained that due to the break-ins at her sister’s house, the two decided to keep their mother’s ashes at hers, inside an urn with their mother’s precious rosary, along with other jewelry and souvenirs.

Her sister called her to ask for the plastic rosary as a souvenir for them.

When she opened the urn, she was shocked to find a plastic bag full of sand.

“The rosary was next to it. I opened and closed it three times hoping I was seeing things. Ben came home a little after me and caught me looking at the urn,” she wrote.

“He immediately turned pale and I knew he had something to do with it. I went ahead and asked him what he had done. I was actually quite surprised when he didn’t try to lie and just threw out the truth in this big monologue.”

She explained that Ben, a demanding cleaner, insisted on cleaning her mother’s memorial area while she was on a business trip.

“I said I would do it myself as soon as I got home the next day. He kept texting me that I wasn’t good at dusting and that he could finish it quickly so I wouldn’t worry,” she said.

“I told him not to do anything and that I would take care of it. He stopped responding.

“When I got home, things looked the same as I had left them. He apologized for being ‘nervous’ and said he didn’t touch anything.

“He said he was anxious before, so there was no need for me to clean the memorial when it wasn’t even dirty. I didn’t think about it after that.”

Ben confessed that while he was cleaning the plastic from the ash bag, it tore and fell onto the carpet.

“This man took a vacuum cleaner and sucked my mother. Then, instead of returning them to the ballot box, he threw the contents of the vacuum cleaner into the trash,” she said.

“When I asked why he didn’t just return them to the ballot box after vacuuming, he looked at the floor.

“He panicked and when I got home he reassured me so I wouldn’t take the ballot box.

“The next day he literally stopped at our local park and picked up some sand in a baggie, so it was about the same weight as the original ash.”

After hearing his confession, she packed her bags for a hotel and blocked his number to spend some time alone.

People said his mother’s last parting gift was helping her avoid a red flag.

“Your mother, in her death, saved you from marrying this shit dog,” said one commenter.

“It’s her wonderful gift to you. Her ashes saved you from committing to a man who will make your life hell.

“Plant a tree in a special place and dedicate it to her memory. Leave her shitty boyfriend.”
