After seeing recommendations about using white vinegar and salt for gravel weeds, a woman named Suzie Briggs turned to social media for advice.

“I have a gravel-covered path and I can’t control the weeds, even using the herbicide recommended for paths. Would they work in the unit or is there something better?
“There are no other plants nearby and it’s not like I’m going to plant anything in the way future.”
But while many group members agreed that these two basic kitty products “work well,” they recommended a “better” household product — laundry detergent.
One user advised: “I used to use salt in my alley and it works, but laundry soap was better for me.”
A second wrote: “I’ve had success with cheap washing powder and boiling water.”
While another commented: “Laundry powders are amazing on gravel weeds. You can see results almost instantly.”
