Why Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts
IF you’ve ever shopped at Aldi or Lidl, you’ve probably experienced their lightning-fast checkout staff.
Aldi’s fast reputation isn’t a mistake; in fact, the supermarket claims its tills are 40% faster than rivals.
It’s all part of Aldi’s plan to be as efficient as possible – and this, the budget store claims, helps keep costs down for shoppers.
Efficient barcodes on packaging mean staff can scan items as quickly as possible, with most products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process.
It also uses “shelf-ready” packaging, which keeps costs low when replenishing inventory.
Any experienced shopper will be familiar with Lidl’s mid-aisle.
From pet toys to kitchen essentials, it’s packed with different irresistible bargains that are on offer each week.
We shared how another bargain hunter posted a selection of unmissable deals that recently caught her eye – and are “perfect for summer”.
In a clip shared on TikTok (@louisehenryuk), Louise starts raving about the ‘Rocktrail electric cooler’, which retails for £49.99.
Ideal for camping or traveling, characteristics a carry handle and exterior shell made from recycled plastic.
And hands up, if you’ve ever complained about not having enough space to store things outdoors… well, you’re not alone.
But that could soon be a problem of the past, thanks to the £39.99 rattan-effect garden storage box currently on sale in Lidl’s mid-aisle.
Sturdy and durable, it’s perfect for housing everything from garden tools and irrigation equipment to outdoor games.
Additionally, it comes with wheels and handles for easy transport.
Next above, Louise points out that gardening fans can also buy “cute watering cans” that hold 2 liters of water, come in a selection of colors – including sage, cream and blue – and cost just £4.99.
Alternatively, if you’re looking to give your outdoor retreat a quick and easy makeover in time for warmer weather, look no further than the ‘raised planter in the park’.
Costing just £19.99, it will not only add an instant splash of color to your garden but will also be a “comfortable height for planting and harvesting”.
Next, Louise brands the ‘flexible garden hose’, which costs £24.99, a “life changer”.
With high quality braided hose, it extends from 10m to 30m with water pressure, making your morning and evening watering routine much simpler.
