A BRIDE faced every future wife’s nightmare – a closed venue just before the ceremony.

She said the company left a note on the door, but she was determined to find the silver lining in her marriage misfortune.

Editor Useful_weight_7715 reported the error in a post on the social media platform.

“This happened years ago, but I think it’s worth sharing,” she said.

“When I was engaged, choosing the location was easy because I always knew I would have my reception in the same place my parents did.

“It was a long-standing restaurant with a banquet hall where we celebrated all the big events for years.”

She added that she and her now-husband ate there two weeks before the celebration to confirm the details.

Things changed just four days before the big day when she tried to finalize the seating arrangements with no response from the venue.

The radio silence gave the bride a bad feeling, so she drove to see the place in person.

“The parking lot was empty and there was a little note on the door saying they were permanently closed,” she said.

“I had a little breakdown and started making calls.

“Not only did I have to find a new venue, but I also had to find a bakery that would make my cake, as my wedding venue contract included the cake.”

HOLDING A LAST MINUTE WEDDING

Determined to resolve the issue, the Redditor said she was able to come up with a new plan for her big day.

With the help of her sister-in-law, she was able to find two new suppliers who were sympathetic to her situation.

“I notified all the guests and had a beautiful wedding that actually cost less than the original,” she said.

Bride’s daring wedding dress code has the Internet buzzing!

Others hoping to use the venue for their wedding weren’t as lucky as this particular bride.

“I read that an entire wedding party showed up the day after mine and discovered the restaurant was closed,” she said.

“I’m so glad I found out soon enough to save the reception.

“I was also fortunate to have the deposits charged to a credit card and received a full refund when I disputed the charges.

“We’ll be celebrating our anniversary soon and now we can laugh about our reception that almost didn’t happen.”

Several Redditors chimed in with their own experiences about marriage problems.

“[Something] similar thing happened to me a week before my wedding,” wrote one.

“We only found out when the florist heard something. Luckily, another place came to our rescue at a great price and did an amazing job.”
