But the pregnant mum took to social media to share the “horrible” names her partner decided on, leaving many horrified.

Posting on Reddit, under the title @r/namenerds topic, the mother explained that her husband chose five potential names.

But many described them as “fandom names” and thought the choices were “insane.”

The anonymous Reddit user shared her nickname dilemma, asking, “Is my husband’s name suggestion for our second baby crazy?”

The mother then explained: “My husband has some name suggestions for our second child.

“I named our first child, so he can name the second.”

The mother then revealed the five name options – Drako Wolfgang Vasques, Drogo Drako Vasques, Drogo Wolfgang Vasques, Wolfgang Drako Vasques, and the last one, much simpler than the others, Tom.

Horrified by the name choices, the mother continued: “Am I biased or are they completely horrible?”

Although the mother has not confirmed how the nicknames were chosen, the name Drako may refer to Draco Malfoy, from Harry Potter.

Meanwhile, Drogo could be a reference to Drogo Baggins, a character from Lord of the Rings.

I regret my one-year-old daughter’s name – I was stressed so my husband chose that name, but my whole family made jokes

At the same time, Wolfgang could have taken inspiration from Shadow of the Vampire, where Ronan Vibert stars as Wolganf Muller.

Embarrassed by her husband’s suggestions, the mother simply wrote, “I’m mortified.”

The struggle to choose a baby name

CHLOE Morgan, senior writer at Fabulous, revealed her dilemma when choosing a name for her baby…

At 35 weeks pregnant, by far the trickiest part of pregnancy for me over the last few months (minus the insomnia and countless nighttime breaks!) has been trying to decide on the baby’s name.
The dilemmas are endless…
My partner and I had a private exam to find out the sex as early as possible – partly because we thought it would make naming babies so much easier because we would only have to create a list of names for one gender instead of two.
How wrong we were…
I was absolutely thrilled to learn I was expecting the girl I’d already dreamed of, but being one of the last friends to get pregnant, I’ve had countless conversations over the years with excited friends discussing their top baby names. …something I wish I could go back in time and not hear.
With every friend mentioning at least 10 possible nicknames, I can’t help but feel that several are now off-limits, even though I know it’s something none of them would mind in the slightest – it’s a total turn-off for me!
The debate comes up again and again on social media forums – can you choose the same name that was a “potential” for a friend’s baby?
It’s a very divisive subject and opinions are always mixed… and I don’t want to be THAT person.
While some will argue that there are thousands of other names to choose from, others will say that you need to choose YOUR favorite… after all, there is no guarantee that this person will have another child.
Then there’s also the matter of finding a name you love… only to look it up online and read one negative review among hundreds of positive ones that you just can’t get rid of.
I made this same mistake when I fell in love with a certain name (I won’t reveal it because I don’t want to ruin it for others!)…only to have someone point out that it is constantly autocorrected on a phone to something quite rude. So, we went back to the drawing board.
There are only five weeks left and it looks like our little one will be known as ‘baby gal’ for a while longer!

Another added: “The knowledge that someone considered naming a child Drogo Drako was driving I’m crazy.”

A third commented: “It’s so insane.”

Your child’s name shouldn’t be a billboard for your fandom

Reddit user

While someone else shared: “Thomas (Tom) is the only usable name here.”

Meanwhile, one user pleaded: “Please don’t name your child after a hobbit and a Harry Potter character. Go with Tom.

Names banned in the UK

The UK has no law restricting names, but names that contain obscenities, numerals, misleading titles or are impossible to pronounce are likely to be rejected when registering a child.

  • Hitler
  • Monkey
  • Cyanide
  • Martian
  • akuma
  • food trailer
  • On its own

At the same time, another user chimed in: “Your child’s name should not be a billboard for your fan(s). A nod, of course. But not a billboard.

“This is a giant digital billboard with a flashing neon frame and strobe lighting.”

A Reddit user then suggested: “[You] we need to establish a no fan name rule.”
