A PREGNANT woman was probably left disappointed after her top baby names were met with disapproval.
She shared a list of unique name options with voters.
Editor TodaySegredoPalavraÉ shared the parents’ situation in a post.
“My list of girls’ names is among these (I’m nine months old) and I need help deciding on something unique,” the mom wrote.
“If you don’t like my choices, please keep it to yourself!”
Their selection of options includes Umbrella (pronounced Um-bri-Ella), Berghandi “Burgundy but named after Gandhi), Poakly “like poison oak combined”, Periwinkle and Xaxbella.
The public’s least favorite was Umbrella, with the majority of people voting for Periwinkle.
In second place is Poakly, with Xaxbella and Berghandi tied for third.
Critics, however, were surprised by the potential names.
“The one that’s killing me is ‘Umbrella,’” said one commenter.
“When you have to write ‘umbrella’ in parentheses because you to know these sounds are not written that way.”
“Right? ‘I’m going to name my son Michael. (Pronounced ste-ven)’,” added another.
“Ahem. I believe you mean ‘pronounced steigh-vyghnne’,” joked a third.
Some differed in their opinions on which name was the worst.
“Umbrella is wild but Poakly specifically to be a combination of Poison Oak stopped me in my tracks,” said one commenter.
“For. What. Reason. I am completely flabbergasted by this and need to hear the motivations behind it to appease my soul.”
He was left wanting more with the unique surname, left unexplained.
“I didn’t write an explanation for Xaxbella, but I feel like this was the one that needed the most explanation,” they said.
“Everyone is answering how to read it. By explanation I meant WHY lmfao. How they created Xaxbella.”
Some hoped Periwinkle would win the vote, if only for the baby’s sake.
“I hope she chooses Periwinkle. It’s not good… but the rest is horrible,” said one commenter.
“Voters solemnly directing the cart to the line with just one person,” joked another.
