A WEDDING guest faced criticism for the dress she chose for a red carpet ceremony.

Many found the style of the wedding dress inappropriate, calling it “cheap” and shaming the thin material.

Editor Pepapoppypippy consulted a forum for wedding attire advice.

‘My best friend is getting married! Is this appropriate to wear to your black tie/red carpet wedding?’ she asked.

The blonde bombshell shared a photo of herself wearing the floor-length spaghetti strap dress.

A second photo revealed the dress’s completely backless design.

Critics pointed out that the dress was great for special occasions, but not the one she was going to.

“You look great in it, but you look like you’re going to prom, not a black-tie wedding,” said one commenter.

Others couldn’t help but agree that she needed to change her dress for something more elevated.

“For red carpet/black tie, I honestly think you could be more sophisticated,” said another.

“The material and back make it look cheap, in my opinion.”

“Yes, that’s it. The fit and silhouette are good in my opinion, it’s just that the dress looks like it’s from Urban Planet or something,” agreed one viewer.

I planned a beautiful, cheap wedding – my dress and venue were free, I had Morrisons flowers and my bridesmaids wore £10 Shein dresses

One fashion fan took issue with the dress’s casual, thin material.

“This reminds me of stretchy yoga pants material. Would you wear yoga pants to a wedding? I agree, a little more sophisticated/elegant will look better,” they said.

“I think you need to increase the level of elegance, this is more like a prom. Prettier fabric, without crushing the butt, a little less in the lower back,” said a second.

“The length is appropriate for black tie, but the fabric (I can see the outline of your underwear) and the ruffle on your butt are not,” said a third.

Many agreed that the fabric ended up looking inappropriate on their body.

“I agree with others that butt kneading is not great. If you could find the same color without it, it would be perfect,” said one viewer.

Some thought the dress suited her, but the backless design was too flashy for the occasion.

“I think the silhouette of the dress suits you, but I think the low back is a little immodest,” said one commenter.

“I think the same silhouette dress with a fuller back would be elegant and appropriate.

“I’m feeling a little stripper with the color and details of the sparkly dress.”

“I think it’s too risky for a wedding,” added another.

“The eyes must be on the bride.”

Many felt the backless design and 'butt-hugging' were inappropriate for the occasion
