In a video shared on TikTok, the dealer shared with viewers how he makes money through retail arbitrage.

Retail arbitrage just means reselling a product for a profit.

It is completely legal in the UK as once you own an item you have the right to resell it.

In the video, the man can be seen entering his local Asda and heading straight to the sales aisle.

Using an app called BuyBotGo, he looked at some pans and the app told him how much they were selling for on Amazon and how many times they had been sold in the previous month.

After discovering he could make £15 profit for every pan he resold on Amazon, he completely emptied the shelves of the product.

The man then went to three more Asdas and repeated the process, stacking his trolley with the discounted pans.

After four hours, the dealer calculated that he had bought enough pans to make a profit of £165, meaning he had made £40 an hour.

The reseller will make a profit on the items by reselling them using Amazon FBA.

Amazon FBA is a service that online sellers can utilize, where Amazon takes care of the storage, packaging, and shipping of your products.

Then all he has to do is send the products to Amazon and wait for the money to come in.

The video likely touched a lot of people as it racked up over 1.8 million views on the video-sharing platform.

TikTok users rushed to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts, with many calling the retailer selfish.

One person said: “There is nothing left on the shelves for people struggling in the economy right now.”

What is retail arbitrage and how does it work?

Retail arbitrage just means reselling a product for a profit.

It is completely legal in the UK as once you own an item you have the right to resell it.

Using an app called BuyBotGo, retailers scan items they find in the supermarket and the app tells them how much the products are selling for on Amazon and how many times they have been sold in the last month.

The reseller will make a profit on the items by reselling them using Amazon FBA.

So all the reseller has to do is send the products to Amazon and wait for the money to come in.

A second person said: “Your attitude is terrible.”

A third person said: “Oh brilliant, clear all the shelves.”

A fourth said: “The people who need the deals can’t get them because you’ve emptied the shelves of all the stores nearby.”

A fifth chimed in: “You shouldn’t be allowed to bulk buy like that, I think it’s selfish.”
