WITH the Euro 2024 final this Sunday, a Harry Kane doppelgänger has revealed what it’s really like to look like the country’s captain.

Danny Bullen, 32, from Bradford, was recently crowned ‘best lookalike’ due to his striking resemblance to 30-year-old Harry Kane.

More than 1,000 fans turned out to vote for eight lookalikes in a public poll on @theboxbaruk Instagram, with other selected entries including the likes of Jack Grealish, Gary Neville and Erling Haaland.

The six-foot-tall man, who works as head of sales at Hope Park Workspaces, shared that not only is he regularly stopped on the street because of his resemblance to the football legend, but he is also constantly asked to take selfies.

If that wasn’t enough, Danny shared that people will even buy him drinks and pick him up when England score.

But despite this, Danny revealed that things aren’t always rosy when he watches football in bars and pubs – and when England are losing, he often bears the brunt.

Despite this, Danny explained that he considers it a compliment when he is compared to the Bayern Munich player, telling Fabulous: “He’s a good-looking lad, isn’t he? So I don’t care.

“I get comments about how I look like Harry Kane all the time, so I’m finally coming to terms with it now.

“I think it’s quite fun. I understand a lot, some people go absolutely crazy about it.”

Danny said that six years ago he pocketed some money for his resemblance to the attacker.

He revealed: “My friends dressed me up as Harry Kane for my stag do, knowing I’m an Arsenal fan and obviously he was playing for Spurs at the time, so they thought it was funny.

“And what they did was they all went into a bar in York and I had to sit on the floor across the street with a sign that said: ‘Harry Kane lookalike, I’ll take selfies for money’.

“I made about £6 in about ten minutes from people who just wanted photos. So that’s when I thought, ‘okay, maybe there’s something to this’.”

As a result, Danny’s friend entered a doppelgänger competition and, sure enough, won the £250 prize.

Euro 2024 final stadium is the scene of the most shameful episode in English football

GARETH SOUTHGATE and his players will follow in the footsteps of sporting infamy on Sunday.

And they also have the opportunity to erase the memories of English football’s most shameful episode, replacing it with a glorious triumph.

For many, the Olympiastadion will always be the place where Jesse Owens humiliated Adolf Hitler in his own backyard.

But the 1936 Olympics WERE used by the Nazis as pure propaganda, as a statement about the supposed supremacy of the “Aryan race”.

The ghosts of those Games still float among the towers and coliseum-style architecture.

Fans who enter on Sunday will see the pedestal where the Olympic cauldron was lit by Fritz Schilgen – hand-picked by propagandist filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl – still there, high in the stands, above a goal.

And two years later, when the FA shamefully ordered English players to raise their arms in Nazi salute before defeating Germany in a friendly, it seemed that the British state was implicitly accepting Hitler’s authority and power.

The Three Lions have the opportunity to right that age-old wrong, but nothing can harm the stadium’s place in the pantheon of sport’s darkest moments.

Danny added: “My friend put me in that Harry Kane competition. I won quite easily.

“Sometimes I think it’s a little strange, but I’ve had this for a long time. I think I do [look like Harry Kane].

“I kind of notice people’s reactions to me. It goes away in the off-season, but when there’s a tournament, especially the Euros or the World Cup, I understand it a lot.”

It’s funny, until people get drunk and start looking for you

Danny explained that while it can be a little “fun” when he’s watching games in bars, things can often get a little confusing.

He admitted: “It’s positive, people like it. It’s fun.

“It’s funny, until people get really drunk and start coming for you and stuff, and I guess I’ll just have to live with it on Sunday if anything good happens.

“Plus, I’m abused. Sometimes in bars when I watch England play, if they’re not playing very well and people have already had a drink, I get abused too.

“They can’t separate that I look like Harry Kane. They’re like, ‘you’re playing c**p too, what are you doing?’

“After a game, they just grab you. Everyone wants to be part of the fun and wants to take a selfie, wants to pick me up.”

Danny shared that people buy him drinks, strangers ask for selfies “a lot,” and he’s used to being stared at and whispered to.

He continued: “I bought drinks, but it’s mostly selfies and the awkward moments when people just grab you.

“You usually notice people talking about you, when people whisper to whoever is with them and they are looking at you, that’s when I realize they are talking about me.

“People ask for selfies a lot. I’ve been stopped on the street a few times. I think they just want to share it with their teammates.

“My wife laughs at everything, [but] She doesn’t get jealous because only guys ask for selfies.

“Most of the time you can just see them whispering. But I don’t mind, to be fair. I have to look at it in a way, you know, this is just a little fun, otherwise I would absolutely hate it.

“Sometimes it can get a little complicated. I mean, it’s all done in jest, but if people have had too much to drink, especially if he’s not playing well, then people are just directing their anger wherever they want, and I look a bit like Harry Kane, so sometimes I take it. blame for this.”

As a result of Danny’s victory in the competition, he expressed his enthusiasm for Sunday’s game.

He smiled: “Me and my friends are big football fans, so we all went crazy in the group chat when we got the News we would be getting a table and a £250 bar bill to watch the final at BOX.

“I expect it to be pretty wild, especially if we win. This is going to be crazy.

“I might even wear a full kit for the occasion. I’m absolutely excited.”
