A SECOND opinion on a wedding guest’s formal attire confirmed her suspicions.
People explained that even if the bride approved of her dress, she might still secretly disapprove.
Editor TrickEase shared the wedding dress in a post.
“I have a wedding next week and these are the two dresses I’m stuck between,” she said.
She explained that she had a preference for a white babydoll style that she designed herself but wasn’t sure about.
“The first one I asked the bride about and she said she ‘has no problem with it and it’s clearly not a wedding dress,’ but I don’t know any of the guests very well,” she said.
“I think I’m more concerned about their opinion.
The guest added that she was afraid of attracting the wrath of the other participants.
“I made this dress and I just desperately want an excuse to wear it, but not if someone is going to ‘spill’ red wine on me (does that really happen?),” she said.
The second option she considered much less viable.
“The second dress I panic bought as a backup dress. I’m not very interested in him,” she said.
“It was supposed to be the size of a teacup, but I’m very short and it looked maxi on me.
“Now I’m also thinking too much about how pale it is and whether it will be too light.
“Also, it looks like I shared the food myself with the strange placement of the yellow lace?
“There is no written dress code for the wedding, but it is a daytime garden wedding.
“It has to be a choice between these two, as I no longer have the time or money to look for another dress.”
Despite her preference for the white babydoll style, critics encouraged her to opt for the pink option.
“I wouldn’t wear a white babydoll mini dress to a wedding and would be surprised to see a guest wearing it,” one wrote.
“The first dress looks like something a bride would wear to her bridal shower or rehearsal dinner,” agreed another.
“I would be shocked if anyone wore this to a wedding, and I can’t help but think the bride is biting her tongue.
“The dress is beautiful, but I really don’t think it’s suitable for a wedding guest.”
“No one will spill wine on you, but the first dress is not appropriate for a wedding,” said a third.
“At first I thought it was a bride inquiring about an elopement dress.”
