WHEN you own your residence, you can do whatever you want with it, even name your tiny house Swift Trailer.

As Taylor says: “This is our place, we make the rules.”

Editor Baberton revealed that she managed to make a small house work for her large family.

“Our family of six, my husband, I and four children, live in a 230 square foot travel trailer that we renovated!” she said.

“It has a queen bedroom in the front, kitchen/living area/bathroom in the middle and bunk beds in the back.”

While many may question the size of the trailer, she explained that it worked well for her needs.

It accommodated her, her husband and four children, aged one to six.

“This suits us perfectly! We feel like we have the perfect ratio of privacy to space,” she said.

However, her “perfect” home came with a lot of legwork.

“We bought our trailer in [Craigslist] and then gutted it almost completely and turned it into a little house inside instead of a trailer type of thing,” she said.

“At the end of it all we spent around 10k. It was totally worth it for us!”

She added that when they first purchased the trailer, it originally had no rails on the bunk beds and the wardrobe had doors without shelves.

After many renovations, including many layers of paint and new flooring, butcher block countertops, kitchen cabinets, and striped walls, they transformed the trailer into a welcoming oasis.

The couple dedicated a corner of the trailer to their new bedroom, installing a large bookshelf above the queen-size bed and recently painting the walls.

Your kids were also able to choose their own color for their part of the “room,” with new railings for their bunk beds.

To upgrade the bathroom, they installed a new vanity with sink and upgraded shelves.

Ikea purchases fueled much of the trailer’s transformation, with new storage tables and benches replacing the trailer’s original jackknife sofa.

To increase storage space in their home, they invested in useful furniture.

For example, they installed a pantry near the kitchen tables.

They even made room for a new baby in the family with a built-in crib in the bottom bed.

The Redditor also came across as a Swiftie: “Yes, we called our trailer the Swift Trailer,” she said.
