AFTER undergoing an invasive liposuction procedure, a man was unable to get rid of his body fat and brought it home in a jar.

Instead of letting it sit after surgery, he repurposed it to make a rose-scented soap that met all of his natural skin care needs.

In a viral TikTok videothe 23-year-old documented the incredible process of making homemade soap using human fat.

Instead of donating or throwing it away, he convinced doctors to let him keep the fat removed during the extensive surgery.

“They were going to throw it away as medical waste, but I asked if I could keep it because I always wanted to make soap and didn’t want to waste perfectly good fat,” he explained.

His idea to create his soap from human fat came from a cult classic film.

“Turning human fat into soap is most commonly associated with the movie Fight Club, where Tyler Durden, the protagonist, takes fat from clinic trash cans and turns it into soap,” he said.

“Although I wasn’t basing it specifically on that film, I found the idea of ​​human fat soap appealing, taking the conclusions of the zero-waste movement and our society’s drive to recycle to the next level.”

He shared that they removed about 400 cc of his fat, which is almost a pound.

The Connecticut resident brought the liquid home in a large glass jar.

Instead of leaving it in the container, he put it to good use by being resourceful with his newly acquired fat.

Soaps made from human fat, also known as tallow soap, can act as a natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant moisturizer, according to experts at Summer comfort tallow.

First, he poured everything into a large pot and heated it.

Using a homemade soap-making kit, he mixed the fat with lye to make the chemicals into a more usable form.

“Be sure to do your research before handling. I’m not a professional, but you definitely want to keep the windows open and watered outside,” Polppi advised.

He then added some rose petals and vanilla essential oils to ensure his soap had some fragrance.

He poured the mixture into the mold and let it cool and harden.

Once it was ready, he cut it into square blocks that resembled normal blocks of soap.

The last step of his DIY trick was to make sure the soap produced suds when he ran it under water.

In the video, he called it “the final test.”

Polppi had unique reactions to her soap venture and not everyone was a fan.

“It’s interesting how varied the reactions to this are,” he said.

“Some find the video funny, while others find it downright disgusting.”

“Your use of recycling is truly impeccable,” commented one Instagram user.

“I understand this is what soap is made of… but a jar of human fat is literally making me vomit,” said another.
